So, are you bitter? According to B. HUSSEIN Obama, those people who live in “small towns” and who “cling to guns and religion” are “bitter” people.

(NEWS FLASH! The writings of Jesse Jose about Sen. Barack H. Obama have created a tempest among Filipino Americans in Chicagoland. Some of the online-debate participants have e-mailed what one community leader termed as "garbage posting." Some of the postings are reproduced in the "Users' Comments" portion of this article.)

While discussing blue-collar workers at a San Francisco fundraiser, Mr. Obama said: “You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and … the jobs have been gone for 25 by years and nothing’s replaced them.  And it’s not surprising then; they get BITTER, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment as a way to explain their frustration.”

Hey, Mr. Barack HUSSEIN Obama, sir, with all due respect, I live in a small old town, too, here in Auburn, Washington, and many have also lost their jobs.  But I don’t see them sulking and moping around … looking BITTER.

Nor do I see them bash immigrants around or show antipathy to me, who look different from them.  In fact, this town is a welcoming town.

As Ms. Hillary said, you, Mr. B. HUSSEIN Obama don’t really get it that we, the people from small towns, “cling to religion” because we “value” our faith.  And we “cling to guns” because many of us “enjoy hunting or collecting or sport shooting.”

I don’t know if my neighbors own guns, but I own two handguns, a revolver and a semi-automatic, and a shotgun, remnants of the “tools of my trade” as a cop, and I go to the shooting range now and then to blast away at targets … and I don’t think I am BITTER because of that.  I shoot, simply, because, I enjoy, shooting at targets.

And, I go to church every Sunday and on days of “obligations” for Catholics.  I am a member of Knights of Columbus.  I sing with the church’s choir during special holidays masses.  I am an usher.  I am a lector.  And I don’t think I am BITTER, because of those things that I do for my church and God!

As Ms. Hillary said, you, Mr. B. HUSSEIN Obama don’t really get it that we, the people from small towns, “cling to religion” because we “value” our faith.  And we “cling to guns” because many of us “enjoy hunting or collecting or sport shooting.”  And our choice for a President is someone who “stands up” for us and not someone who “looks down” on us.

THE BITTERNESS OF MICHELLE OBAMA: This was sent to me by Tom Bonzon, a reader of my column and a recent cyberspace friend from Virginia, with a note that reads: “She is just as bad as her pastor.”  That pastor, as y’all know is Rev, Jeremiah Wright.  Tom told me that this piece appeared in the Newark, New Jersey community newspaper, “The Star Ledger,” written by Kelly Heyboer.  It was titled, “Thesis – Michelle Obama aka Michelle LaVaughn Robinson.”

“In her senior year at Princeton, Michelle Obama, the wife of Barack Obama stated that America was a nation founded on ‘crime and hatred.’  Moreover, she stated that whites were ‘ineradicably racist.’  The 1985 thesis, titled, ‘Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community’ was written under her maiden name, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson.

“Michelle Obama stated in her thesis that to ‘Whites at Princeton, it often seems as it, to them, she will always be Black first …’  However, it was reported by a fellow Black classmate, ‘If those Whites at Princeton really saw Michelle as one who would always be Black first, it seems that she gave them that impression.’

“Most alarming is Michelle Obama’s use of the terms ‘separationist’ and ‘integrationist’ when describing the views of Black people.  Mrs. Obama clearly identifies herself with a ‘separationist’ view of race.  She wrote: ‘By actually working with the Black lower class or within their communities as a result of their ideologies, a separationist may better understand the desperation of their situation and feel more hopeless about a resolution as opposed to an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight.’

“Mrs. Obama writes that the path she chose by attending Princeton would likely lead to her ‘further integration and/or assimilation into a white cultural and social structure that will allow only me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.’

“Michelle Obama clearly has a chip on her shoulder.

“Not only does she see separate black and white societies in America, but she elevates Black over White in her world.

Editor’s Note: There is a joke going around in Southern California that OBAMA is the acronym for “Only Black Americans May Apply.”

“Here is another passage that is uncomfortable and ominous in meaning: ‘There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all my present and FUTURE resources to benefit the Black community FIRST and FOREMOST.’

“What is Michelle Obama planning to do with her future resources if she’s First Lady that will elevate Black over White in America?

“The following passage appears to be a CALL TO ARMS for affirmative action policies that could be the hallmark of an Obama administration: ‘Predominantly white universities like Princeton are socially and academically designed to cater to the needs of the white students comprising the bulk of their enrollments.’

“The conclusion of her thesis is alarming.

“Michelle Obama’s poll of Black alumni concludes that other Black students at Princeton do NOT share her obsession with blackness.  But rather than celebrate, she is horrified that Black alumni identify with our common American culture more than they value the color of their skin.  She wrote: ‘I hoped that these findings would help me conclude that despite the high degree of identification with whites as a result of the educational and occupational path that Black Princeton alumni follow, the alumni would still maintain a certain level of identification with the Black community.  However, these findings do not support this possibility.’

“Is it no wonder that most black alumni ignored her racist questionnaire?  Only 89 students responded out of 400 who were asked for input.

“Michelle Obama does not look into a crowd of Obama supporters and see Americans.  She sees Black people and White people eternally conflicted with one another.  The thesis provides a trove of Mrs. Obama’s thoughts and world view seen through a race-based prism.

“This is a very DIVISIVE view for a potential First Lady that would do untold damage to race relations in this country in a Barack Obama administration.  Michelle Obama’s intellectually-refined racism should give all Americans pause for deep concern….”  JJ
