S heesh.  What’s the big deal about the Kho-Halili sex video?  Bakit pinagkakaguluhan ito?

The people, men, women and children, the media, the tsismis shows led by Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino, the politicians, the police, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Department of Justice, GABRIELA, the Philippine Congress …

Even the Philippine Medical Association …

The whole country, actually …

Is riveted to this sex video.

How laughable naman.

How pathetic.

How sad.

Only on the Philippines, I tell ya.

S ure, here in America, people get riveted, too, to sex scandals.  Yes, they talk about it.  But they don’t talk about it weeks after weeks after weeks, without let-up.  They talk about it.  Laugh about it.  Then they move on.

Yeah, I saw the much-touted, the much-publicized, the most-talked about and the most-watched sex video of Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili, but really, what’s the big deal?

I also saw the Kho-Maricar Reyes video.

And, the Kho-Brazilian beauty queen video.

But it’s the Kho-Halili video that’s in the heart of this “controversy.”  Or is it a mayhem?  Or is it insanity?  I think it’s hysteria, mass hysteria of the first order …

In the Philippines, it’s a “scandal” daw.

Come on.

SENATOR BONG REVILLA: Senator Bong Revilla in his privileged speech before Congress said those women in the videos are “VICTIMS.”  Hindi lang gago ‘to, stupido pa.  Ang mga arti-artista kasi sa atin, na mga no-read-no-write, they become lawmakers … binoboto kasi ng mga masa to become the lawmakers of the land.  Kaya, hayan, they take up causes na mga walang kuwentang bagay.  Sex videos … ha!

Come on.

In the videos, there were two consenting adults.  A couple, a man and  woman.  There was no rape.  There was no assault.  There was no violence.  There was no deviation from the norm.  And there was no drug use that was shown in the film.

There was no crime….  Just two consenting adults having good sex.  Is that a crime?

Talking about victims, I’ll bet my piggy bank of pennies that Bong Revilla has a long list of VICTIMS of his own.  Probably longer that Dr. Kho’s list.  Sa pagmumukha na lang ni Bong, siguradong maraming nabiktima ‘to.  Good-looking, macho, artista … at senador pa ngayon.   Chicks galore, ika nga.  Kaliwa’t kanan.

I wonder if he’s got his own stash of videos, too.

SEX TOURISM. If Senator Revilla is really that obsessed about sex, perhaps he can put that to good use.  Instead of going after Kho’s sex videos and disclaiming in Congress that the women in those videos are victims, he should go after those foreign pedophiles that come to the Philippines as tourists solely for the purpose of having sex with children.

Now, those children are VICTIMS!

You know what?  My first thoughts when I first saw the videos were these: Kulang pa sa technique itong si Kho.  Hindi lang sa technique, kundi pati sa size.  Sure, he’s good-looking, with a nice body and all that, and so were the women.

But really, what was the big deal?

Sex films and sex videos proliferate and are sold in almost every street corner in the Philippines.

So, what’s the fascination here?

Is it because Hayden Kho is a medical doctor and Katrina Halili is an actress?  And Kho is the boyfriend daw of Vicky Belo?  Dra. Vicky Belo, that is.  You know, the famous cosmetic surgeon in the Philippines and Asia, whose clients are only the rich and famous, the artistas, the politicians and beauty queens.

That’s probably where the fascination lies: Finally, a sex video of the rich and famous in the Philippines.

From what I heard, Kho and Belo also have a sex video together.  THAT, I wanna see!  Yes, definitely, I wanna see that!

I wanna see Dra. Vicky Belo in action.

Well, don’t ya?

DOCTORS WHO PERFORM ABORTION. Now, why would the Philippine Medical Association take away the license of Dr. Hayden Kho as a doctor?  Was a doctor-patient trust broken here?  Did Dr. Kho abuse those women and “victimize” them, so to speak, as patients under his medical care?

No, right?  So, why take away his license?  Tangalan ninyo ng license diyan ay mga nag-aabort na mga doctors.  Because, they’re not only committing murders, but sins against our Maker.

Talking about VICTIMS.

Those unborn babies … are victims!

Those children who are abused by tourists pedophiles … are victims!

And Dr. Kho has now become … a VICTIM!  Of this mass hysteria.

The victims are NOT these women in Dr. Kho’s videos … no, I don’t think so.  They consented to it.  They seemed to have enjoyed it.  And most probably, they were paid well for it.

You guys back “home,” stop this sex video watching na and move on to bigger and better things.  Things, as President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, AKA, Pandak, would say, “para sa kaunlaran ng aba natin bayan.”

Sheesh.  JJ

Hi Jess,

Congratulations on another funny column...you have echoed my sentiments, not so much on the actual video itself (I don't think I'll ever get to watch it) but the uproar this has caused. A lot of the folks back home claim or even act pretty westernized but there are so many things that make me shake my head when it comes to issues that the folks back home react to, this is one of them.

By the way, please read my column...I mentioned you. Thanks again!

Pareng Jesse,

I wonder how Bong Revilla would react to your column which, typical of your Barako style, cuts both ways. Ha ha ha. It's right on target!

It seems nobody is complaining about the sex acts of Kho and his multiple partners. The ruckus appears to be that the whole sexual episodes were videotaped and are being shown.

Now, look at this. Dr. Vicky Belo through her lawyer was in fact decrying, not her and Kho's sexual congress, but the fact that their videotaped performance was being shown!

Who's really the voyeur? Those who bought and saw the videotape? Those who watched out of curiousity? Those in the Senate like Bong Revilla? Those who are involved like Kho and Belo? Those in law enforcement? It goes and goes and goes.

In any case, congratulations pare for this eye-opener of an essay! Cheers.

ka jesse,
What else can I say except "BINGO" you said it all. There oughta to be law banning movie box-office king from legislative office. its sickening and outlandish to have such kind ofelected officials who are ignoramus on such sensitive issues of abortion, pedophiles, women sex trafficking, etc. only to granstand on inconsequential issues which unsuspecting masa is only titillated as a curious cat without any redeeming moral values to learn from. ika nga, onli in da Pilipins. OMG, forgive them for not knowing what they do.
