Pundemic of Poetry (Part I)
-- By Bobby M. Reyes

Introduction. On  August 24, 2016, I posted the first of what I called the "Trump's Haiku-kiri, Oops, Political Hara-kiri ..."

But I did not observe the true Haiku rules. I had to edit it to conform to the Haiku format, as suggested by Marshall Martinez of the
"Occupy Democrats" and Terri Stewart Bastedo Bischoff of "CNN Politics" FB Groups.

And because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have more time, as I am cooped up in a residence due to the voluntary "lockdown."

I am using, therefore, the time to write more Haiku poems that will showcase my supposed ability as a "wordsmith" in creating more puns ...

And here is the first for the 2020 presidential campaign:

A Tribute to Medical-and-Healthcare Workers

Sanjay Gupta's one
Of healthcare heroes today
Saving countless lives.

Trump wants to hire him
As the GOP's paid spokesman.
The doc turned it down

Why. if you may ask?
The POTUS wants change of name.
New name is GOPta.

Here are the first and second Haiku poems for the 2016 presidential election:

Donald Trump's Campaign in True Haiku (Part One):

Trump's a demagogue
An old frog in new GOP pond,.
Republicans fooled.

Trump's messy campaign
In norm is all pure antic.
The GOP is frantic.

Trump is like a flash
in GOP's political pond.
Is a dream gone bad.

More Trump's Haiku-kiri.
Oops, Political Hara-kiri ... (Part Two)

Trump says she's a crook.
But he's describing himself
Real Trump's a con man.

Thus says Mr. Bloomberg,
Trump's New York's Number-One Crook
And demagogue too.

She's not mad like Trump
Despite Clinton's warts and all,
he's crazed like a fox.

Trump's a bigot, too.
Folks of color not happy,
they'll back Hillary.

Trump's views on race and
migrants are of Dixiecrats',
not of Democrats.

-- By Bobby M. Reyes
(Thanks to Adelbert Batica of Minnesota for the "Dixiecrats'" idea.)

Quote of the Day

"I had a linguistics professor who said that it's man's ability to use language that makes him the dominant species on the planet. That may be. But I think there's one other thing that separates us from animals -- we aren't afraid of vacuum cleaners."--Jeff Stilson
