Hi Bobby: I am neither an apologist nor supporter of Villar. I don't even know him, except that his personal lawyer is a good friend. I am not defending Villar, but merely pointing out facts and history that yu can all verify yourselves. I am happy that at least, Villar has the guts to bring traditionally opposing parties of Philippine society together in coalition under the NP " Big Umbrella". I would have brought on a candidate that represents the D/ E and Poverty stricken masses for Senator in his slate. We must bind together all the stakeholders to bring about the changes in our society, and not just let the elite A, B, and even middle classes dictate our futures. The communists as well should come to the discussion table, and be persuaded that this is the way to go, not violent revolution and force of arms. What villar and the NP have done is a great first step. Sayang pa rin si gilbert; he should be Executive Secretary after this race is over. As to political turncoatism, history will show you that Ninoy Aquino himself was a staunch Nacionalista, like his Dad, Speaker Aquino. Until he switched to the LP as a political expedient. It was not just Marcos who switched from one party to another for that purpose in the sixties. Pacific Standard Time, jcaedo@ writes: Obviously this article overlooks the fact that Cory Aquino herself formed a coalition government with known communists and right wing personalities when she took over in 1986. If Noynoy Aquino's mother did that, how come Manny Villlar should not? Coalition building is needed during these troubled times. Once again, Brod Jay, you have hit the bull's eyes even if you are blind. The perry-tale writer has probably 20/20 vision but is unable to see and distinguish political reality from his fantasy. He should be writing fables instead of political commentary. He and the featured writer are just displaying their ignorance for all the world to see. Mabuhay ka, Brod Jay, Brod Bobby
