From Ms. Yuko Takei, a Filipino-Japanese member of Facebook: "Pathetic but true. I actually often get piqued when I read on FB glorification of Filipinos mimicking W. Houston, etc. like that Youtube talent, Charice, and calling themselves great for singing, boxing, domestic helping, and nothing else. The Filipino-Canadian Senator must have been frustrated that there is really nothing much to be proud of especially now." (As posted in Bobby Reyes' Facebook Timeline).

"My mom said she learned how to swim. Someone took her out in the lake and threw her off the boat. That's how she learned how to swim. I said, 'Mom, they weren't trying to teach you how to swim.'"--Paula Poundstone
