The Farmers Will BE Home in their Land at Hacienda Luisita this Christmas From: MEDIABCLA@aol.com To: ilocanos@yahoogroups.com, akda@yahoogroups.com, botomo@yahoogroups.com, monram@gmail.com CC: ASGI@yahoogroups.com, OFW-News@yahoogroups.com, Akda@yahoogroups.com, FWOpinions@yahoogroups.com, NaFFAAforum@yahoogroups.com Sent: 3/22/2010 2:49:23 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time Subj: Re: Villar Vows Justice for Luisita victim... (2) How to Get Back the HL Yes, you are right, Brod Jay, that a newly-elected President Manny Villar will have nothing to do with the appeal filed by the Cojuangco-Aquino Clan over the Hacienda Luisita's (HL) Stock Distribution Option that is pending before the Philippine Supreme Court. But . . . Never underestimate the power, the prestige and perks of the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, who will be at the height of his popularity, being newly-elected and enjoying the so-called 100-day honeymoon period with the people and the press. Once the Villar-appointed Secretary of Justice and all newly-named officials of the Justice Department start to reinvestigate -- starting on July 1, 2010 -- the murders of several farmers at the HL and the frustrated-murder cases, the Cojuangco-Aquino clan will start to sweat it out. Once the cases are swiftly filed in the Regional Trial Courts and no bails allowed, all the HL corporate officers and their security people will be in jail. Now, do you think that the Cojuangco-Aquino scions will not agree to a compromise? Like withdrawing their appeal before the Supreme Court and turning over the HL, in exchange for lower sentences and stiff fines and actual-punitive damages? By this time, the HL security people (triggermen) will be singing like sparrows (canaries) . . . and they will be state witnesses. As the adage goes, "One cannot fight the City Hall." Well, in the case of the HL, a determined newly-elected President Manny Villar will have all the support of the farmers, the activists, the military, the people and the Overseas Filipinos. You can bet your farm, Brod Jay, that justice will be done to the farmer-beneficiaries of the HL before Christmas Day of this year (2010) or even sooner. Please mark my words, Your Brod, Lolo Bobby M. Reyes Editor www.mabuhayradio.com In a message dated 3/22/2010 2:23:59 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, jcaedo@sbcglobal.net writes: Bobby: The case regarding the trashing of the Stock Distribution Option by the Department of Agrarian Reform is still being challenged before the Supreme Court by the Cojuangco-Aquino family. Manny Villar, even if elected President, has nothing to do with this case. If the land is to be distributed according to the original contract between the Cojuangcos and the GRP, it will be by operation of law. No Philippine President, even if it be Noy Aquino himself, can order such land distribution, as this is a matter before the Judiciary. People should realize what kind of false promises are being made, particularly when they don't understand how government works. Jay
