An ongoing boycott of the Pechanga Resort and Casino will be lifted for 24 hours by the Filipino-American sanction organizers, as initiated by the MabuhayRadio.com. The one-day lifting is due to the performance at Pechanga by some Filipino and Filipino-American entertainers. The boycott is the result of the continuing discrimination being practiced by the current leaders of the Pechanga Tribe on some tribal members, whom they ousted from the community on flimsy grounds.

The MabuhayRadio.com has joined the boycott of the Pechanga Resort-Casino and continues to urge all its readers and the Filipino-American community to boycott the said resort. This website fought very hard against the propositions that were sponsored by the Pechanga and three other Indian casinos, as described in these articles,  Please Vote “No” on Propositions 94, 95, 96 and 97   and  Media Breakfast Club Follows MabuhayRadio and Endorses the “No” Votes on Props. 94, 95, 96 and 97

The boycott continues after the show on February 21. In fact, the www.mabuhayradio.com will undertake a more-energized boycott of the Pechanga Resort and Casino until and unless the tribal leaders will take back the ousted members of the tribe and restore to them their civil rights. The MabuhayRadio.com staff calls the immoral and illegal action of the Pechanga tribal leaders not only the violations of civil rights unheard of in American-Indian history but also the “equivalent of ethnic-cleansing abomination.” More data about the Pechanga “ethnic cleansing” are found in this website, www.airro.org and/or http://originalpechanga/blogspot.com

H ere is the press release sent by the Entertainment group Creative Concepts International, which returns to the Pechanga Resort and Casino with "A Little Night Music" Part 2. It showcases the original Music & Magic Band members Fe de los Reyes, Eva Caparas and Jet Montelibano (in their special reunion concert) with special guest American Idol Season 3 finalist Jasmine Trias and the special appearance of international singer-composer David Pomeranz.

The special concert is slated for February 21, 2009, (Saturday) at the Pechanga Theater Showroom with two performances at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

The Music & Magic was an elite singing group that dominated the live concert circuit in the Philippines during the '80's spearheaded by Jet Montelibano as lone male vocalist, Kuh Ledesma as lead singer, drummer Nonoy Mendoza and keyboardist Toto Gentica. Completing the group then were vocalists Fe de los Reyes, Eva Caparas, Angeli Pangilinan, with Butch Elizalde (on lead guitar) and Hector Pedero (on bass). Vocalist Vicky Sevilla later took over from Angeli while Bobby Taylo took over from Hector and Jeannette Casuga from Toto Gentica.

L aunched in 1979, it didn't take very long for Music & Magic to become a most in-demand singing group back then. They became regular performers at Regent of Manila's prime watering hole The Alibi Bar and in their first year was awarded 1979's Most Promising Group by the Aliw Awards Foundation.

Jet, Fe and Eva continued with the group after the successful solo launch of now pop diva Kuh Ledesma. Music & Magic traveled abroad extensively and was featured in many of Kuh Ledesma's sold-out performances at venues such as Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and Carnegie Hall in New York in addition to conquering the night scene through extended stints in Singapore and Malaysia. The group disbanded in 1986 to pursue solo careers and in 1996 performed with Kuh in a sold-out 6-night reunion series at the Music Museum.
