AMBASSADOR GAA SOLICITS SUPPORT OF JAPANESE-AMERICAN CITIZEN LEAGUE FOR FILIPINO VETERANS EQUITY BILL

During an official visit to the State of Ohio on 16 February 2008, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa met with Mr. John Tateishi, the National Redress Director of the Japanese-American Citizen League (JACL) and a Trustee at the University of California at Merced. Ambassador Gaa discussed the Filipino Veterans Equity Bill pending in Congress and solicited the JACL’s support for this measure. In reply, Mr. Tateishi said that “as Asian-Americans, it is right to work together for the passage of the Equity Bill.”
