One Filipino wag said that the woman selected by the bachelor officer and gentleman, Andy Baldwin, M.D., is really beautiful because she is “mestiza.” The Filipino is probably from Southern Philippines but he did call right the woman’s name, Miss Teesa.
Another Filipino, who hails from Mindanao, says that he will produce a Mindanawon version of the highly-rated show and call it “The Muslim Bachelor.” The guy ends up with the last four contestants, as he can marry four times.
And Filipino entertainer Bernardo Bernardo will produce another Philippine-American version of the show and call it, “The Happy, Glad and Gay Bachelor.” At the end, the bachelor will choose the most-handsome limousine driver.
And many scenes in the TV show were shot in Hawaii. A Filipino viewer claims that the “w” is pronounced as a "v” and “ii” as “yi.” He said that when he first landed in Honolulu, he asked for its correct pronunciation and a German-American settler told him, “Havaii-yi.”
And in turn the guy was asked by the German American if he were a Filipino. The guy answered, "No, I am an Ilocano."
