Alumni of the San Beda College (SBC) of Manila, Philippines, held a Second International Grand Reunion in several locations in Southern California, from May 25-27, 2007. The SBC Alumni Association of Southern CA (SBCAASC) served as the hosts of the gathering of Red Lions. The festivities mark also the 25th anniversary of the SBCAASC.

=================================

A golf tournament started on Friday the Grand Reunion at the Diamond Bar Golf Course. Then registration of delegates and a reception happened next at the Embassy Suite Hotel in Anaheim, California, off the Disneyland Resort.

A picnic followed on Saturday morning at the Brookhurst Community Park in Anaheim. After the picnic, a basketball game between Bedans and alumni of the Ateneo de Manila was held at the adjacent Brookhurst Junior High School. A Bedan Fiesta at the El Torito Restaurant at the Orange City Way capped the night.

Sunday morning began with a mass officiated by the Rt. Rev. Tarcisio Ma. H. Narciso, OSB, the abbot and chancellor of the SBC. The reunion’s final event was the Red-and-White Ball held last night at the Embassy Suite Hotel ballroom.

Special guests during the Grand Reunion were the SBC Red Lions, the 2006 NCAA Basketball Tournament champions. Alumni from the Philippines, United States and the United Kingdom attended the three-day reunion.

The SBCAASC executive officers are: Arthur DelaRosa (president), Teddy Relatos (vice president), Francis Sales (secretary), Chris Carreon (treasurer) and Dr. Joey Dimen (auditor). The Board is composed of Jun Castillo, Vic Zamora, Rey Santos and Ed Querubin.

More photos and reports of activities and proposed alumni-sponsored projects for the SBC campuses in the Philippines later.
