With last year's success of its initial production Karim at Jasmin -- the first original Filipino opera -- MRG Services, Inc., is now poised to present yet another original production from its multi-award winning writer and composer, Dr. Ramon Sison Geluz. This time, Broadway musicals get the nod in TINA AND THE MAGIC MIRROR a heartwarming, romantic musical production about Valentina, a perpetual dreamer who celebrates her birthday by slipping in and out of a magic mirror that takes her on different funny adventures.
Songs from popular and endearing Broadway shows including "West Side Story," "South Pacific", "Camelot", and "The Phantom of the Opera" (among others) as well as other popular ballads are woven together in the plot that provides the romantic ingredient in the story.
The world premiere of TINA AND THE MAGIC MIRROR features the talented rising Broadway performer Lara Avengoza, who played the role “Diwata” in Karim at Jasmin, and who has performed in concert with singer Chris Lawrence and with the award winning vocal group "Three of a Kind".
World-renowned classical and jazz pianist Joselito Pascual co-stars with Lara Avengoza and will be the production’s musical director. "Tina" also features the talents of singers Christopher Avendano and Joan Cano who played the roles of "Karim" and "Princess Rajita" in Karim at Jasmin, respectively. This much awaited Broadway musical production is being directed by Edith Andres.
