New Asian Town Can Be the Model for Developing Historic Filipinotown and the FACLA Property

  The top executives of the GBI International will brief the Filipino-American community of the New Asian Town in Houston, Texas, portions of which they are developing. The Media Breakfast Club (MBC), in cooperation with the Filipino-American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA), will hold a forum on Monday, March 17, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the FACLA Social Hall. The topic will be the New Asian Town of Houston, Texas, as a model for developing the FACLA property and the Historic Filipinotown. The FACLA is located at 1740 W. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90026.

The forum will be done by Keith Truong, president of the GBI International. James Nguyen, the GBI International chairman and CEO, will also be present to answer any inquiry about the New Asian Town development and the proposed Philippine Center in Houston, Texas. Bobby Reyes, the MBC founder, has proposed that a Philippine Center be established in the New Asian Town in Houston as a joint-venture project between the Filipino-American community and the GBI International. The MBC has invited also Messrs. Truong and Nguyen to make a second presentation at the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, Wednesday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The PCG is located at 3600 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 500, Los Angeles, CA 90010.
