Filipino-American Supporter Bats for Senator Obama
| Filipino-American Supporter Bats for Senator Obama |
Senator Barack Obama is the only candidate who has an "issues flier" devoted to
Asian-American Pacific- Islanders matters. Its Tagalog version can
be accessed here:

As
this is just a one-page handout, I'm happy to try to provide you with
more details on what you think your readers might be interested in. As
a Filipino-American Obama supporter, I definitely want to make the
campaign as accessible as possible to your readers!
Here's a release you might be interested in
from Mr. Obama's Senate office on today's passage of the Veterans' Benefits
Act.

Senator
Obama has been a longstanding supporter of Filipino WWII veterans.
I
also urge you to check out a website that I help to maintain www.AsianAmericansforObama.com,
which has a great deal of content about Senator Obama's connections to the Asian-American communities and the issues that we care
about. # # #
I thank you for providing me with a platform. However, with more advanced notice I would really prefer to provide a more substantive response. That email was just an informal note to you to respond to your inquiry. Appearing next to the full post by the Clinton supporter--it's not equal in weight or specificity as to why I strongly support Senator Obama, and I fear that it would be unfair to try to present it as such. As it appears now, I'm not sure that it really 'levels the playing field.' I assure you I can go to bat for Senator Obama much more strongly than what's represented by those offhand points from my email. I'm also happy to post under my full name.
In the modifications you made to my email--it might not be entirely accurate. Just to clarify, I'm not aware whether either of the other two candidates have an AAPI issues flier. But I'm confident that Senator Obama is the only candidate who has such a flier available in Tagalog.
Thanks,
Angelica Jongco
