Rodel Rodis . . . is a bigot, a racist and still has unresolved fiduciary business with the NaFFAA – Adolfo Paglinawan
This writer has been saying that many of the former and present national executive officers (NEOs) of the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations (NaFFAA) are not only bankrupt financially but also intellectually. Rodel Rodis is the best example, if not the personification, of this NaFFAA clique that has been displaying a shameless track record of bigotry, dishonesty, lack of transparency, complete failure of accountability in their stewardship of the federation and worse, plain stupidity. The findings of Mr. Paglinawan are equivalent to a moral imprimatur of what I have been writing about Mr. Rodis and his fellow NaFFAA NEOs. Thus, Mr. Rodis has once again displayed his “patented” (sic) foot-in-mouth disease, which has become prevalent among the NaFFAA NEOs.
To read more of (if not again) these accusations against the federation, please go to The NaFFAA Is Bankrupt Not Only Financially But Also Intellectually. Readers can also revisit the bombshell of an article about Rodel Rodis in this link The NaFFAA Is in Turmoil: Rodis Continues to Commit Political Suicide.
There is also an earlier article about the bigotry of another NaFFAA ally, Perry Diaz. Here is the link to that article, Almageddon--the Filipino Fireworks Lighting Up the Sky from Fourth of July, All Summer Long
Washington, DC-based Filipino writer and activist Ado Paglinawan brought out in an e-mail today another despicable act of Rodel Rodis. He sent the e-mail to Nonoy Mendoza, the publisher of the Filipino Image magazine of Washington, DC, with CC to this writer. Here is Mr. Paglinawan’s e-mail:

Dear Nonoy,
I almost vomited when Balitang America interviewed your "good friend" Rodel Rodis tonight. He was asked by Mrs. Relos why Hillary's supporters, including some Filipinos, are saying they will vote for McCain if Obama wins the Democratic nomination.
Rodel, who was wearing a shirt with an Obama patch, answered something to the effect that because of colonial mentality most Filipinos still have a difficulty not voting for a white person.
You know, it is about time TFC's attention is called that there are other Filipino leaders in this country a hundred times more credible and dignified other than Rodis who is a bigot, a racist and still has unresolved fiduciary business with NaFFAA.
Worse, Rodis is even the best friend of Mike Arroyo, who is now the nemesis of ABS-CBN. Why even put him on the air? Those people ought to be fired by the Lopezes.
I have no contact with TFC here, but could you please relay this message to them?
Can you also make sure Bobby Reyes gets to know about this yet another shameless Rodel-Rodis episode. I mean huwag naman tayong mag-traydor sa mga Kababayan at sarilin nating kadugo. Who does Rodis think he is?
Naging American citizen lang siya, akala niya itim na rin siya?

UNQUOTE.
Please note that Mr.
Paglinawan was still being
nice to Mr. Rodis, whom he described as still having
“unresolved fiduciary business with the NaFFAA.” In my case, I have always said
that many of the NaFFAA NEOs like Rodis, Ben Menor, et al, are crooks
(C-R-O-O-K-S) and so far they have not been able to sue me for libel. Because
truth is a defense in libel and they do not want to give me the right to
subpoena their financial records, including their income-tax returns.
In other words, Rodis and Company not only steal the people’s money in the NaFFAA coffers but also insult Filipinos by calling them as guilty of colonial mentality, etceteras, etc. Mr. Rodis, who wants to run for the California Assembly, not only fails to use politically-correct language but also his utterances during the Balitang America interview were simply the statements of a bankrupt person, both intellectually and financially. And Rodis, et al, have the nerve and gall to pronounce that they at the NaFFAA are the national spokesmen for the Filipino-American community. If Rodis and his fellow NaFFAA NEOs are the self-proclaimed best friends and defenders of the Filipinos in America, they would not need enemies, don’t they? # # #

Dear Adolf,
Why does everything have to be so personally vicious with you? If you support McCain, then state your case. Why engage in "Swift Boat" tactics by writing such venal ad hominem messages to Bobby Reyes and Nonoy Mendoza?
Our mutual friend, Eric Lachica, swears to me that you're a nice guy but nice guys don't do what you do.
What I told Balitang America was based on my experience of talking with so many Filipinos who told me that they don't have anything against Barack except for the fact that he's black and they can't see themselves ever voting for a black person. One of the guys who told me this was even asking for my help because he was being discriminated in his job because he wasn't white. I asked him if he saw the irony of his thinking. He didn't.
How does being anti-racist make me racist? How does having lived here for so long make me think that I'm now "itim"?
Adolf, your name certainly suits you. Your parents must have known what kind of thinking you would grow up to have.
Rodel
