Mga katoto, mag-dyok muna tayo.  When Joseph “Erap” Estrada became the President of the Philippines, all sorts of hilarious dyoks proliferated, and we all had a frolicking good time hearing about them and telling them to families and friends. He was laughable.

When George “Dubya” W. Bush became America’s President, all sorts of dyoks proliferated, too, and we also had a jolly good time.  Not so much now … because he’s on his way out and has become irrelevant.  Like Erap, Dubya was also laughable.

Mr. Obama is not yet THE President of Amerika (dream pa lang), but all sorts of dyoks about him had already proliferated and almost everybody is already having a grand good time.  Bit by bit, as we begin to know him, his gaffs and flip-flops and his little white lies, he, too, has become laughable.

Here’s one, titled “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.”

"SENATOR OBAMA AND THE SEVEN DWARFS"JOKE: The seven dwarfs always left to go to work in the mine early each morning.  As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.  As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.

One day as she arrived at the mine with the lunch, she saw that there has been a terrible cave-in.  Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White began calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived.

“Hello!  Hello!” she shouted.  “Can anyone hear me?  Hello!”  For a long while, there was no answer.  Losing hope, Snow White again shouted, “Hello!  Is anyone down there?”

Just as she was about to give up all hope, she heard a faint voice from deep within the mine singing:  “Vote for Obama!  Vote for Obama!”  Snow White fell to her knees, crossed herself and prayed, “Oh, thank you, God!  At least DOPEY is still alive.”

Ha, ha, ha.

Here’s another one, titled “Post Turtle.”

THE "POST TURTLE" JOKE: While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year-old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.  The old rancher said, “Well, you know, Obama is a POST TURTLE.”  Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, “What is a post turtle?”

The old rancher said, “When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post, with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a post turtle.”

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain.  “You know, he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he’s up there … and you just wonder what kind of a dumb idiot put him up there.”

Ha, ha, ha.

Top Ten Reasons Why Senator Obama Is a Foreign-Relations Expert

By the way, those dyoks were sent to me by Tom Bonzon, a fellow happy-go-lucky retiree and gardener, who lives in Virginia.  He tells me he’s also a fisherman, and I am sure at this time of the year, the fish there now are hungrily biting.

"DOG KNOWS BEST" JOKE: You know, I always save the best for last.  The next one was sent to me by my tokayo, Jesse Farrales of Chicago, who is a fellow DOM and famously known in Chicagoland as the “Debonair.”  This one is titled, “Dogs Know Best.”  It’s kind of a serious dyok, because it’s true.  I am not lying either, I swear.  Here it is.  Enjoy:

Have you ever heard that a dog “knows” when an earthquake is about to hit?  Have you ever heard that a dog can “sense” when a tornado is stirring up, even 20 miles away?

Do you remember hearing that, before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia, dogs started running frantically away from the seashore at breakneck speed?  Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and danger of fire?

Somehow they always know when they can “go for a ride” before you even ask them.  And, how do dogs get home from hundred of miles away?  It’s because dogs have keen insights into the “truth of the matter.”  They can sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance.

Simply said, a dog knows when something isn’t right.  When a pending doom is upon us, they’ll always try to warn us.... (There’s picture right after this, and the picture is of a male dog with one leg lifted, peeing at a red, white and blue lawn poster that reads: OBAMA ’08.  With a bold caption underneath the photo that says, “Good dog!”)

Ha, ha, ha.  I wish I had the picture of the dog peeing at the Obama poster.  That would’ve been funnier.

I READ THIS IN A BLOG AND I AGREE: “Obama will lose in November, and when he loses, Obama’s people will say it’s because this country is racist, when, in fact, Obama will lose because he’s the weaker candidate.  Obama is not qualified to become President.  He has no grasp on the harsh realities of the world.  He’s ignorant on economics and foreign policy.  He’s arrogant and he feels as though he’s somehow entitled to be elected to a job he’s not qualified for.  He had no business seeking the office in the first place with the thin resume he brings with him.  He’s also a FAR LEFT LEANING LIBERAL and his views do not reflect the thinking of the majority of Americans . . ."

True, very true, indeed, I could not have said that better.  But dyoks are a lot clearer and lot more fun in delivering the message.  Kaya, mga katoto, keep those Obama dyoks coming, let’s get down and let’s have some fun.  Okey ngarud, talk to y’all later.  JJ

In one way, you are right, Mr. Jose. Senator Obama may be the biggest joke this election year.

Keep up the wit and humor,

Not so funny or laughable. Makes you puke and dizzy. You have demeaned the high journalistic standard of this organ.

I am sure you will greatly laugh after Nov.8.
