Filipino Workers in Long Beach Protest Unfair-Labor Practices
| Filipino Workers in Long Beach Protest Unfair-Labor Practices |
Filipino-American hotel workers are organizing themselves in protesting alleged unfair-labor practices by some of the biggest hotels in the Long Beach, California. A delegation attended last Wednesday's meeting of the Media Breakfast Club held at the Social Hall of the Filipino-American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA). The delegation was soliciting community support for its advocacy. The MabuhayRadio.com will report on this developing story, after it covers a planned demonstration in Long Beach on July 10, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. Please see attached reproduction of a flyer being circulated in Long Beach and surrounding cities.
Filipino Americans who may like to support the campaign against the exploitation of ethnic hotel workers are urged to use the Blue-Line train and get off at the end of the line in Long Beach. The crowd of protesters will assemble in front of the Hilton Hotel in Downtown Long Beach.

The public demonstration will be held on July 10, 2008, at 5:00 p.m., in front of the Hilton on 701 W Ocean Blvd. (between Maine and Golden Ave. in downtown Long Beach).
