Yes, folks, the Obama and McCain campaign organizations are exchanging volleys after volleys of Barack-Bashing and McCain-Mashing shots of wit and humor. Why, even MabuhayRadio.com columnists Fred Burce Bunao and Jesse Jose have joined this war of wit and hilarity.

Remember how Paris Hilton called Senator McCain as “the oldest celebrity in the world, like super-old, old enough to remember when dancing was a sin and beer was served in a bucket.” Well, defenders of Senator McCain said that speaking of beer, the Republican presumptive presidential nominee, is married to an heiress of one of the country’s biggest distributors of Budweiser beer. The McCain people point out that his opponent, Mr. Obama, is a lawyer, who is married to another lawyer, while Mr. McCain is a tried-and-tested American military hero, who drinks beer. The Republicans say, therefore, that the coming presidential election is a no-contest, no-brainer deal: Mr. McCain will soundly defeat Mr. Obama. Why? Because there are more beer drinkers than there are lawyers. Bottoms up?

Now, the Obama Couple has become one of America’s super-celebrities. In fact, there is reportedly a new Broadway play that Jesse Jose, the MabuhayRadio.com columnist, has written. The play is a musical and it will be called, “Obamama Mia.” It will depict how Atty. Michelle Obama finally became proud as an American when her husband started his campaign for the presidency. Readers can browse Mr. Jose’s column about her in this link, Bitter you, Bitter me and the Bitterness of Michelle Obama (Now a Nasty Debate Among FilAms in IL)

Another Broadway show is in the offing. According to rumors, the dean of Filipino-American poetry and punditry, Fred Burce Bunao, has written also another musical that will soon be produced. The title of the stage play is, “Jesus Christ, Is Obama Now a Superstar?”

Then there is the issue of age. According to the Democrats, Senator McCain is too old to become President. The Barackudas (the term that Mr. Bunao coined as his term for the Obama fanatics) say that a McCain presidency may just be an exercise in senility.

Editor’s Note: On the other hand, Jesse Jose calls the supporters of Senator Barack as the “Obambis.”

Well, the Filipino-American defenders of Senator McCain, as led by Pennsylvania’s Ernesto Gange and Michigan’s Ed Navarra, point to a MabuhayRadio.com column written by former Board of Investments Gov. Ben Sanchez. Governor Sanchez wrote, Life Now Begins at 60

Apo Ernie Gange and Engineer Navarra point out that because of advances in medicine and improvement in lifestyle and healthcare facilities and practices, Governor Sanchez is right. As Governor Sanchez pointed out, the benchmark of 40 as the start of life’s “prime-time period” is now actually 60 years. Therefore, the Filipino-American McCain campaigners say that a 72-year-old man like Senator McCain is actually like 52-years young, as life expectancy is inching up to the nineties. Mr. Gange adds that “life nowadays has effectively made younger by 20 years the ages of almost all human beings.” He says, therefore, that “Senator Obama, who just turned 47, is actually like 27-years young from the viewpoints of health and experience.” So, Engineer Navarra asks: Will America trust a 27-year-old man to be the President?”

There are the big “Barack Barns” in Ohio, where the “Big O” campaign logo of Senator Obama is painted on the front walls of barns. The message that the Obambis want to deliver is that “O, as in Ohio, is for Obama.” Yes, the façade of barns has been turned into a rural version of the advertising billboards. But the “Barack-Barn ads” may be backfiring, as reports say that Ohio farmers, especially those raising livestock, have begun calling the horse-and-cattle manure as “O’sh_t.”
