So, Oprah is supporting Senator Barack HUSSIEN Obama in his run for the White House.  Y’all forgive me please for being such an ignoramus, but who the heck is Oprah?

Kapangalan ng tsimay namin noon araw ‘to, eh.  Oprah rin ang pangalan.  At maitim din….

Really, I don’t think that Oprah has the stature or the pull or the weight to catapult Mr. Osama, I mean, Mr. Obama to become the President of the United States of America.  I don’t think she’s capable of doing that. Sure, thousands of people came to see her in Iowa, in New Hampshire and in South Carolina.  Sure, people came to show their support for Mr. HUSSIEN, I mean, for Mr. Barack HUSSIEN Osama, I mean, Obama.  But I think they came more, for the spectacle of it all, y’all know what I mean?

DESTROYED EVIDENCES OF TORTURE
: So, the CIA destroyed videotapes of torture techniques of two senior al-Qaeda detainees, AFTER telling a federal judge that no such tapes existed.  The CIA said they destroyed the tapes “to protect the identity” of the CIA torturers that were on the tapes.

When queried by reporters about the matter, Ms. Dana Perino, Mr. Bush’s mouthpiece, said the President had “no knowledge” of CIA torture tapes of terrorist suspects.  Of course, Mr. Bush has “no knowledge” of it.  He has “no knowledge” of much of anything at all!!!

ON MITT ROMNEY
: As y’all know he’s a Mormon.  And a lot of people consider the Mormon religion as a “cult.”  When asked during an interview about the teachings of Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, Romney said church officials should answer those questions. “You know, they’re probably the right folks to give you the answers to questions related to a bunch of Mormon teachings,” he said.  “What I can tell you is that the values of my faith are founded on Judeo-Christian principles.”

HUMANS CAN BECOME GOD: If Mormonism was founded on Christian principles, why then the practice of polygamy for a long, long time in the church’s history? And why then the barring of Blacks from full rights of membership in the church until 1978?

Joseph Smith founded the Mormon religion in the 19th century as a “restoration” of what he considered to be “a true Christian church.”  Mormons do not believe in the concept of the unified TRINITY.  They believe that God has a physical body and that human beings can eventually become God.  And that people can be baptized after they have died.  And that the Garden of Eden was in Missouri.

Perhaps, to others, it’s a mystifying religion. But to me, it’s scary.  Especially that part where it says that “humans can eventually become God.”

By the way, do y’all know that Mr. Romney was an erstwhile pastor of his church?  In the Catholic religion that’s equivalent to a Bishop.  And, if he becomes President, he said, he will continue to believe “in my Mormon faith” and will endeavor to live by it.  To me, that’s truly scary.

THE SPEECH
: In his SPEECH last week, Mr. Romney said: “What do I believe about Jesus Christ?  I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and the savior of mankind.”

He also said that “religious tolerance would be a shallow principle indeed if it were reserved only for faiths with which we agree.” And then he added this caveat: “My church’s beliefs about Christ may not all be the same as those other faiths.” Those are brilliant and eloquent words.  But are they true?  Or are they merely political words?  Words that deceive, in other words.

He also said that “polygamy is not a part” of his faith.  Yet his grandparents practiced polygamy … and he vowed that he will always abide by the “faith of my fathers.”

So, where’s this guy coming from? He also asserted that “freedom requires religion and religion requires freedom.”  I don’t think so!  Religion has been the enemy of freedom!  Think Taliban!  Think Spanish Inquisition!  Think Philippines when it was ruled by the Spanish friars for so long!

People have likened the SPEECH of Mr. Romney to that of President Kennedy in 1960 about his Catholicism.  There is NO COMPARISON at all.  Romney said that religion has a place in the public domain and that the Constitution rested on a “foundation of faith.”

He said, “In recent years, the notion of the separation of the church and state has been taken by some well beyond its original meaning.  They seek to remove from the public domain any acknowledgement of God. Religion is seen as merely a PRIVATE AFFAIR with no place in public life.  It is as if they are intent on establishing a new religion in America – the religion of secularism. They are wrong!”

John F. Kennedy emphasized the separation of church and state and called religion a “private affair.”

President Kennedy said, “I believe in an America where the separation of the church and state is ABSOLUTE – where no Catholic prelate would tell the President (should he be a Catholic) how to act and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote … where no man is denied public office merely because his religion differs from the President who might appoint him or the people who might elect him … “I believe in a President whose views on religion are his own PRIVATE AFFAIR, neither imposed upon him by the nation or imposed by the nation upon him as a condition to holding that office.”

Right on!

Mr. Romney is the one who’s wrong.  His Mormonism ain’t for me and he ain’t no John F. Kennedy.  I believe in the separation of church and state.  That to me, is America. JJ

Here we go again....religion, religion, religion. Religion has no place in politics, period.

If religious freedom really exist in America, why do we disect a politician because of his belief? Mormonism is historically practiced here in this country. They have lived (most of them) to be good citizens. Never mind those who practiced the extreme mormonism, such as those polygamist. After all, we also have those extreme catholics and protestants who kills ennocent people because of there belief on abortion.

What if someday, american-indian will ran for president. Will he be rejected because of his belief in nature, rather than on Jesus? How about a chinese- american that practise confusianism? How about Indian-american from India that Hinduism? And this group are non-christians but will be excluded in there quest for presidency. Is this equitable? Is this fair?

Let's be true to our ideals that America is the land of opportunity and of the free.

Pare ko,

I don't think you undestood the ESSENCE of what I said. What you said is EXACTLY what I said, only in different words. Read it again, please, but slowly this time ... especially that last part of my story where I quoted JFK: "I believe in the separation of the church and state." It's almost like a replica of what you said: "Let's be true to our ideals that America is the land of opportunity and the free."

The only thing we don't agree on was when you said: "Why do we disect a politician because of his belief?" Of course, we have to dissect people who will be leading us, Americans. You don't want a CRACKPOT again like Bush to be leading us, do you? Look what happened to this great country. He f...ed it all up!

I really do think that Mr. Romney is a crackpot, too, like Mr. Bush. Therefore, it's our duty as citizens to dissect him and his STRANGE religion.
And, as you said this a land of the "free." We are free to dissect this crackpot or anybody else for that matter, free to dissent, free to air our views, free to opine ... free to be an American, just like you and me. You don't want to take that away from me, do you? Because if you're going to do that, we will surely fight, mano-mano, NGIPIN SA NGIPIN. You remember that movie, right? With Jose Padilla, Jr. We saw it together in Paco, many, many moons ago, remember? Anyway ... I hope you know what I mean.

Jesse,

I got a lot of "what if's" in my mind. Let me share it with you.
What if,by some miracle, Barack Hussein Obama, was elected president. For some change of circumstances, he allowed himself to be converted to Islam, will he be swearing on the Bible or on the Koran?

Pare Ko,

"Wacko" was used as a method of dissecting, in this case, religion. Sorry, I can not explain it in tagalog either. You should be in the same wavelength, for you to understand., not the Haysoos way, but the ManWell way.

Pare Ko,

I did not realize that I was just an echo of what you have said. But wacko dissecting a person because of his religion? I do not buy it.

Pare ko,

I cannot "dissect" what you mean. Are you saying that the Mormon religion is a WACKO religion? Please explain in readable English. O kaya, Tagalogin mo na lang.
