Prof. Jose David Lapuz will be the inducting officer at the installation of Deputy Consul General Daniel R. Espiritu and Finance Officer Adrian Peran of the Philippine Consulate General as new Knights of Rizal tomorrow, Wednesday, May 7th, at the Filipino-American Service Group, Inc. (FASGI) Community Room. The Knights of Rizal program starts at 3:00 p.m. (1500H). The FASGI is located at 135 N. Park View Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026. Professor Lapuz teaches at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He is one of the foremost Filipino authorities on Foreign Relations and on the life of Jose P. Rizal. He is also a Philippine ambassador to the UNESCO.

Joining Dr. Lapuz at the Knights of Rizal gathering is Sir Jun Zerrudo of the Knights of Rizal, Toronto (Canada) chapter and organizer of the budding International Federation of the Knights of Rizal (IFKOR), which will have its first international convention in Toronto, Canada, from Sept. 11-13, 2008.

Earlier Professor Lapuz addressed the Media Breakfast Club (MBC) today at the Social Hall of the Filipino-American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA). He discussed the current political situation in the Philippines, the rice crisis and other national problems. It was the 935th meeting of the MBC, which sponsors a weekly community forum at the FACLA. Next week, the MBC meeting reverts back to its original time slot, which is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., every Wednesday morning. The MBC meeting today was cosponsored by the Los Angeles chapter of the Order of the Knights of Rizal (OKR). Sir Al Aquino is the OKR chapter commander while Sir Tony R. Berango is its United States’ Western Area commander. # # #
