After the Elections: What Now, Philippines?” on Wed., May 12 @ 1830H (RP Time) in Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! at DZRH-AM radio (666 in Metro Manila, other kHz nationwide), various TV stations (Ch. 9 in Metro Manila, other cable TV channels nationwide), and Internet http://dzrh.prepys.com or http://dzrh.tripod.com.

D espite the advice of some Information and Communication Technology (ICT) specialists and the demand of some candidates and their supporters to postpone the national and local elections, the Philippine Commission on Elections (COMELEC) did not approve the postponement and, thus, the elections were conducted on May 10, 2010, as scheduled. How did the Automated Election System go? What lessons are learned to make it better next time?

After the elections, what now Philippines? Where should the country go from here? What priorities should the new administration, at both the national and local levels, act on and why?

Hear some answers to these questions and share yours, too. Tune in or watch Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! on May 12, 2010, Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Manila time) at DZRH-AM radio (666 in Metro Manila, other kHz nationwide), various TV stations (Ch. 9 in Metro Manila, other cable TV channels nationwide), and Internet http://dzrh.prepys.com or http://dzrh.tripod.com.

G uests are:  Angel Averia, Jr., Convenor, Automated Election System Watch (AESWatch), Information Technology consultant, Center for People Empowerment in Governance, and president, Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team; Angelito Bautista, entrepreneur and head of a typical Filipino family; and Architect Felino “Jun” Palafox, Jr., Principal Architect/Urban Planner/Founder and Managing Partner, Palafox Associates and one of the business-sector representatives to the Philippine Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD).
