On June 16, 2010, Wednesday is the regular episode of Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! (KK!): Our celebration of Environment Month this June, including Al Gore’s recent visit to Manila, reminds us to care for this awesome but fragile Earth. We can do so in many ways, starting by simply using water, energy, and other resources in a more environment-friendly way. But other people and their organizations are doing more. Hear some of their initiatives and what else you can do. On June 19, 2010, Saturday: Join the seminar on “Enhancement of Community Disaster Preparedness and Livelihood”  in The EARTH School, Flor’s Garden, Marcos Highway, Antipolo City, 8AM to 5 PM. Organized by EARTH Institute Asia, Inc. and Flor’s Garden, it aims to help local communities improve their disaster preparedness with an integrated strategy, strengthen their capabilities to produce and process organically grown food for both emergency and normal times, and enhance active collaboration of public and private groups on emergency preparedness. The seminar includes technology demonstration, product exhibits, healthy gourmet food, garden tour, and gifts to participants.
