"Earth Day: Why Should It Matter to You?" Is KK! Topic on DZRH-AM radio, on April 2, Wed., @ 7:30 p.m. (Manila Time) Since April 22, 1990, many countries in the world have been celebrating Earth Day. In its first year, Earth Day involved 200 million people in 141 countries. It also helped pave the way for the 1992 United Nations Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which brought together world leaders to tackle environmental issues. This year, environmental groups aim to mobilize at least one billion people worldwide to participate actively in the observance of Earth Day 2008 on April 22, 2008. We hope you will be one of those people.
But why should Earth Day matter to you? Well, you have a role to play in building a clean, healthy, and bio-diverse earth. In fact, we hope you will make every day of your life Earth Day. Hear how you may do so from Ms. Elisea "Bebet" Gozun and Mr. Voltaire Alferez, executive director of the EDNPI in Kalikasan, Kaunlaran!
