Stewardship" Is Topic for KK! Program on DZRH-AM on Wed., Nov. 7, @ 6:30 p.m. (Manila Time)

Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! (KK!) program host Dr. Cora Claudio dedicates the KK! episode on environmental stewardship on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, 6:30-7:30 PM, DZRH-AM radio to some of her friends in the Philippines and abroad who are now fighting cancer and to Ateneo Graduate School of Business Prof. Julie Oconer-Lim who lost the fight a few days ago but who will forever be remembered fondly by many whose lives she touched.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that about one fourth of cancer and other diseases globally are caused by environmental risks, e.g., toxic substances in the environment. We could prevent such diseases by caring for the environment and by managing its resources well. Doing so, not only for our benefit but also for that of future generations, is environmental stewardship in action. It will reduce environmental risks and prolong lives, including yours.

At the KK! talakayan on Nov. 7, Cahbriba Alternative School Foundation President Pilar Habito will discuss how one may learn environmental stewardship and Mayor Marides Carlos-Fernando will explain how it is practised in Marikina.
