A

re you looking for a hero or heroes to look up to, to inspire you, and to lead our country's development in a sustainable way? If you are one of those Filipinos looking for heroes, we hope you have high-enough standards of heroism to look beyond the "moderators" and "moderated" characters that we read and hear much about these days. We have many other real heroes who have been working quietly, with integrity throughout their lives.

Consider our kababayans abroad who have been helping keep the Philippine economy afloat. Some of them are among the best in the world in their fields. They are real heroes. We have been referring to them as Overseas-Filipino Workers or OFWs. But, some of their leaders prefer that we now call them Global Pinoys. For, indeed, they are not just "workers." Many of them are leaders, planners, and technical experts. Among them are the new "OFWs," the Overseas-Filipino Women, whom we want to honor now as the month for women (March) starts.

Hear two of the new OFWs-- Anita Sese-Schon,  Overseas-Filipino Council organizer, and Dr. Glenda Besana-Ostman, earth and planetary scientist--in Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! (KK!),  DZRH-AM radio, on March  5, Wed., at the new prime time slot, 7:30 – 8:30 PM.  Join KK! Dir./Host Dr. Cora Claudio, Pres., EARTH Institute Asia, in checking which pot is about to boil in Anita's Kitchen and which one might soon erupt among Glenda's monitored volcanoes.

Join also KK!'s projects, contests, and campaigns. You may join all of them if you are a registered KK! listener. To register, text 2299: earth<space>REG < name, age, sex, address, email address, and name of person who invited you to tune in KK! >. (Commas are required.)

You will also hear more about the Malunggay Para sa KK, Sapal Para sa Kabuhayan, 2M Puno Para sa KK and other projects of EARTH/KK! in partnership with Secura Int'l. Corp., Manila Jaycees, GREEN Army, DENR, MAP, Carica  and others. The contests offer cash prizes and the projects provide livelihood while protecting and enhancing the environment.

KK! is co-produced by EARTH Institute Asia, Inc. and DZRH, with the cooperation of MAP, GREEN Army, PFST, TOWNS, PBE, AIJC, PEIA, DENR, and others. It is at 666 khz in Metro Manila and at various other khz in most areas nationwide.  It is also globally accessible thru www.eradioportal.com or www.mabuhayradio.com. It is on pilot video run for Global Pinoys through http://dzrh,prepys.com.

You are also invited to join KK!'s partners-sponsors. For the first quarter of 2008 they are Unilever, Shell, Unilab, Holcim, Petron, Manila Water, and Toby's Sports. Providing in-kind support this quarter are Del Bros Supply Chain Solutions, Superferry,  The Bowler/TOWNS Awardee Bong Coo, MAP, Brahma Kumaris/Deanie Lyn Ocampo, Arch.
