T he Philippines has just taken a major step toward sustainable agriculture with the passage of Republic Act 10068, the “Organic Agriculture Act of 2010.” This new law stipulates that “it is a state policy to promote, propagate, and further develop the practice of organic farming in the Philippines.”

That’s good news—not only for the agriculture sector but also for all who want to eat healthy food. It is a reason to celebrate. Hence, the Agri-Aqua Network International & the One Organic Movement of the Philippines, with the support of the Department of Agriculture,  are inviting all to celebrate this good news at the 3^RD PINOY ORGANIC FESTIVAL, which will be held on May 28-30, 2010, at the AANI Herbal Garden & Livelihood Center, Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City. This annual event will be a special one this year—with discussions on how the new law could be implemented with real benefits, especially to farmers.
