“Towards a Sustainable Energy Future” on Wed., April 21 @ 1830H (RP Time) in "Kalikasan, Kaunlaran!" on DZRH-AM and Channel-9 TV in Manila and and on the Internet at http://dzrh.prepys.com or http://dzrh.tripod.com.

T he latest World Bank Report on Energy, “Winds of Change: East Asia's Sustainable Energy Future", says that East Asian countries, including the Philippines, could stabilize their greenhouse gas emissions by 2025 without compromising growth. But their governments must “take immediate action to transform their energy sectors towards much higher efficiency and more widespread use of clean energy before it is too late… The shift to a clean energy revolution requires major policy and institutional reforms.”

What policy, institutional and other reforms can we expect in the coming year and beyond from some of the Philippines’ potential legislators and industry leaders? What is Philippine business, especially the transport sector, a major user of energy, doing to help the country achieve a sustainable energy future?

Hear some ideas and plans by tuning in/watching Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! (KK!) talk show on April 21, 2010, Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Manila time) at DZRH-AM radio (666 in Metro Manila, other kHz nationwide), various TV stations (Ch. 9 in Metro Manila, other cable TV channels nationwide), and on the Internet at http://dzrh.prepys.com or http://dzrh.tripod.com.

G uests are: Ramon “Mon Mon” Blanco Mitra (Former director of the Philippine National Oil Company and 2010 senatorial candidate), and Homer Mercado (Chairman and President of HM Transportation, president of the Philippine Provincial Bus Corporation, and President of the Southern Luzon Bus Operators Association). Dr. Cora Claudio, president of EARTH Institute Asia, will moderate the discussion.
