A fter tackling “Biodiversity Loss: The Forgotten Crisis” on June 24, Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! will now focus on a major sector of biodiversity—flora and fauna--and their conservation, as an introduction to the 2nd Philippine International Flora and Fauna Garden Expo that will be held on July 16-19, 2009, at the World Trade Center, Metro Manila.


Tune in/watch Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! on July 1, 2009, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Manila time), at DZRH-AM radio (666 in Metro Manila, other kHz nationwide), TV (Ch. 9 in Metro Manila, other cable TV channels nationwide),   and Internet ( or

The discussion will cover contemporary issues affecting flora and fauna conservation, the initiatives being taken now, and the additional measures that various groups, including the audience of Kalikasan, Kaunlaran!, may take. The guests will also talk about the competitions that the public may join during the garden expo, e.g., flower arrangement, photo contest, and best plant for different categories.
