E cologically-sound homes and communities are not only important to the planet, they can be nice to live in, too. And they can be a lot cheaper to maintain. They help protect and enhance the environment while providing high quality of life and a safe and healthy living environment.

 

 

How can one develop a sustainable eco-home or eco-community? Tune in or watch Kalikasan, Kaunlaran! (KK!) on Earth Day 2009, April 22, 2009, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Manila time), at DZRH-AM radio (666 in Metro Manila, other kHz nationwide), TV (Ch. 9 in Metro Manila, other cable TV channels nationwide), and on the Internet (http://dzrh.tripod.com or http://dzrh.prepys.com).

 

 

G uests are Canada-based Green Architect Helen Villaraza-Ostrowski, Partner/Manager of ASH (Autonomous and Sustainable Housing, Inc.) and a proponent of eco-buildings and eco-development; Engr. Carlos Villaraza, president of CMV Engineering and developer of a structural wall system that can be fabricated and erected with less materials and time than those used in standard construction; and  Ms. Josh Ong Cayabyab and Arch. Felix Doydora, Coordinator and Architect, respectively, of Green Kalinga, the program of Gawad Kalinga (GK) that is making GK communities green and sustainable. Dr. Cora Claudio, president, EARTH Institute Asia, will moderate the discussion in conversational Tagalog-English.

* J oin the EARTHnetwork for Sustainable Living —a network of producers, sellers, and consumers of eco-products for the wellness of people and planet earth.  The network membership continues to increase daily.  Many of the members can provide ecologically sound technologies, other products, and services-- from organic vegetables to electric vehicles, from marketing of food supplements to design of ecologically sound buildings. Some join to help promote and market the eco-products. And others join just to help promote the production and consumption of eco-products.
