DIEGO – As the fans raved and reviewed all the reasons why the San Diego County's Chula Vista-born singer should have been the winner of the May 23, 2012, "American Idol" finals, Jessica Bugay-Sanchez is still in their hearts forever.

According to American Idol at Fox, the network received 132-million votes, which were officially counted. Phillip Phillips was proclaimed the winner of the American Idol 2012.  Phillip is the typical all-American Caucasian good-looking boy.  He could be your "boy next-door neighbor" with a charming smile, and a following of many young girls that goes into frenzy when they see him.

Reports on Fox 5 said that Phillips Phillip's health condition regarding his kidney stones was tentative and he needed surgery.  The doctor gave him up till the Finale to go in for surgery and recovery is usually 6 weeks.  The medication they gave him produces dry mouth and could cause an impact on his singing.

Meanwhile, Jessica, an American of Filipino and Mexican descent, has captured many hearts of the American people.  She could sing songs that are difficult and powerful that touch the hearts of many.  One of her fans in the international level was even President Aquino from the Republic of the
Philippines
and even Champion Boxer and Congressman Manny Pacquiao.  They were rooting for her too and many others in the Filipino homeland.

The most-commendable judge throughout the show was Jennifer Lopez who saved Jessica when she had the least amount of votes in the Top 7 finalist.  It was a one-time courtesy for just one singer to be used throughout the program, and all the judges agreed. After that, she went on to continue her battle to sing till she made it to the Finale as one of the youngest idols to compete with smiles, poise and confidence.

A prominent member of
San Diego
community, Bea Bianes, and one of the promoters for the get-out-to-vote for Jessica said, "She should have been the winner and most professional singers and local reporters said she deserves to be the winner."

According to the local community news, she has lived in Paradise Hills most of her life. One even noted that she went to school in
Bethune Elementary School and then to Eastlake Middle School.  She began home schooling in San Diego County and received a scholarship to go to Theatre Arts in Hollywood
.

It is interesting to note that Jimmy Levine from the American Idol Mentor and Record Producer is the CEO of Interscope Records.  This company deals with hip hop, pop rock and urban performers.  The top winner will sign-up for Interscope recording contracts, and in this case will be Phillips Phillip.

Meanwhile Tommy Mottola is the former CEO of Sony Records and now a co-owner of
Casablanca
.  Yesterday night a tweet came in from Thalia who is Tommy Mottola's wife that indicated that her husband, Tommy, will be working on Ms. Sanchez's first record.  The songwriters will also be the writers for Beyonce and Rihanna.  The true goal of American Idol contestants is to get a record deal.

Tommy Mottola has worked with singing celebrities such as Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Destiny's Child, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Dixie Chicks, Barbara Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Jennifer Lopez, Diana Ross and others.

Interscope Records and
Casablanca is a parent company of Universal Music Group. Coincidentally, Tommy Mottola (Casablanca
) and Jimmy Levine (Interscope Records) are the best of friends.

Overall, American Idol has given most of the contestants the exposure needed to get all their names out and how they are able to break into the music business. Bottomline, it is important that they have a solid foundation of hometown fans and support base to build it to a larger and national level.

Jessica Sanchez is a fitting image of what singer and actress Brandy Norwood indicated five years ago and said, "I promise you that you're going to be huge." # # #
