The “Mosquito Filipino ‘A Bite of Spiritual Healing’” is a documentary film by R.A. Mendoza. It depicts Mr. Mendoza’s first trip ever to the Philippines with his mother Connie (now deceased) and how they became peacemakers to their family. It has caught a buzz in Hollywood due to the editing work of award-winning editor Gabe Pagtama, the 2009 Golden Halo recipient from the Southern California Motion Picture Council.


The World Premiere of the project was held at The Reef in Long Beach, CA, on Friday, November 19th at a red-carpet soiree along with celebrities, entertainment, and a silent auction. The red carpet arrivals were done at 6:00 p.m. and the screening began at 7:20 p.m. 


The prices for the movie tickets were $10 presales and $15 at the entrance. Online tickets can be purchased at The official 21-and-over after party sponsored by Eligere Productions was held at the conclusion. The final cut of the film will be showcased and the primary proceeds will benefit the Frank & Concepcion B. Mendoza Scholarship Fund in the Philippines and the U.S.A.


R.A. Mendoza’s documentary film had an amazing special screening at the 2nd Annual Filipino International Film Festival in Hollywood on September 25th at The Arena Stage Theater.


Confirmed guests and celebrities for the premiere showing included Carson’s Mayor Jim Dear, Co-hosts Kat Iniba of L.A. Channel 18’s Halo Halo Show and Abigail “Red Oyster” of the VH1 Reality Show “Flavor of Love”, “Charm School”, TFC and ABS/CBN shows, TV producer Karen Pagtama “Emmy Award winner for “Top Chef”, the talented acting-and-musically talented Basco family, popular actress Camille Mana, Filipina jazz sensation Charmaine Clamor, Vegas recording artist Joy Rocks, Josie Empleo, Bizzart, and Dr. Chiquita Tolton.
