P orfirio “Perrytale” Diaz is one of the NaFFAA corrupt-clique’s mouthpieces. He has been lately posting new online attacks against the investigative-reporting duo of Romy Marquez and Bobby Reyes. He has also been recycling his old smear-campaign materials. Mr. Porfirio now calls himself “TabacNiDamocles,” which he obviously copied from “Sword of Damocles.” The Filipino word for bolo is “tabak"; and "espada" is for the sword.

The NaFFAA is the acronym of the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations.

Alas, the officers of the Los Angeles-based “Philippine-American Society of Pundits, Humorists and Wags (PASPHAW)” immediately made fun of Mr. Porfirio’s new moniker. The PASPHAW members now call him “Tabacini-Lamokles.” The Filipino colloquial word for a fat person is “tabacini” (pronounced “tah-bah-chi-nee”). “Lamok” is the Filipino word for “mosquito.” Yes, Mr. Diaz can be compared to a fat mosquito, which is a mere pest. A mosquito does not sting like a bee.

Actually Bobby Feels Like He Is a 100-year-old Sage

L olo Bobby Reyes will turn 65-years old on May 1, 2011. But he tells this writer that he feels like a 100-year-old learned adviser and/or an elderly statesman. “Lolo” is the Filipino term for “grandfather.” And Lolo Bobby has seven grandchildren.

But let readers judge if Lolo Bobby looks old in this video aired by ABS-CBN in May 2010. It documents his appearance in the Balitang America’s “Miting de Avance,” when he represented then-presidential candidate Manny Villar, Jr.:

Now, Porfirio “TabaciniLamokles” Diaz claims that he is younger than Lolo Bobby. But look at this YouTube video posted by Romy Marquez and judge for yourselves if Mr. Diaz looks younger or older than Lolo Bobby. The photo of Mr. “Tabacini-Lamokles” that Romy Marquez used in the YouTube video was also taken during the taping of the said “Miting de Avance” where Mr. Diaz was a member of the audience:

Poet-pundit Fred Burce Bunao (Now Deceased)

It was Poet-pundit Fred Burce Bunao who founded the PASPHAW. It was also Mr. Bunao who dubbed in 2001 the pen of Bobby Reyes as the “Sword of Damocreyes” (sic) that he said “hangs over the heads of the corrupt founders of the NaFFAA.” After all, it has been said that “the pen is mightier than the sword.”

Perhaps Fred Burce Bunao is now laughing hard and loud in the Blue Yonder. He should be proud that the PASPHAW members continued on with his brand of wit and humor. Imagine the members coming up fast with “TabaciniLamokles” as the new moniker of Porfirio Diaz. He should be proud that his literary students are stepping into his big shoes as a pundit and humorist. # # #
