S en. Mar “Mr. Palengke” Roxas wants to be the next President of the Philippines. Apparently, his choice of cuss words at a public rally might have doomed his candidacy. Senator Roxas is now the butt of jokes.

We are reproducing the online postings about the “Put_ng Ina” incident by an anonymous author, with the rest of the comments posted in the Users’ Comments of this article. Here goes . . .

Editor’s Note: Indeed Filipinos in the homeland and Overseas Filipinos make fun almost of everything, especially those that happen to politicians. More on the Filipino wit and humor in this article, Humor Is Now the Opium of the Filipino People

QUOTE.

At the anti-Charter Change rally in Makati City last Friday, Sen. Mar Roxas told the crowd, “Put_ng-ina! Patayin ang Gloria Forever Cha Cha na ito!” When Korina Sanchez heard this, she said, “Sh_t! Pa’no pa ko magiging first lady n’yan?”

During the anti-Charter Change rally in Makati City, Sen. Mar Roxas shouted “put_ng ina!” The use of the expletive came as a shock to Roxas’ closest aides… mainly because in private, the senator only uses words like “Imbyerna,” “Keber!,” and “Etchos!”

Briefly Noted: A day before the anti-Charter Change rally in Makati City, people were talking about Charter Change. Less than a day later, everyone’s talking’ about Mar Roxas. How’s that for publicity?

UNQUOTE.

The moral of this story about Senator Roxas? If a presidential timber wants to be taken seriously, he or she should not use the language of the proverbial gutter, especially that used by people who work to make sure the drainage of a public market (palengke) remains clean of garbage. # # #
