T he national-executive officers (NEOs) of the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations (NaFFAA) belong most-probably to a clique of corrupt liars. This was the consensus of the members and officers of the Philippine-American Society of Pundits, Humorists and Wags (PASPHAW) in a meeting held last night in a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, California.

And yes, it also needs new leadership ... and perhaps, even a new name. Because, it now appears to many Fil-Ams that the acronym, NaFFAA, connotes ‘NaKAWAN-AH’—Jesse Jose

P oet-pundit Fred Burce Bunao, the venerable founding president of the PASPHAW, revealed also that his informant told him that the NaFFAA’s ruling clique would soon follow Jesse Jose’s suggestion. It would dissolve the federation and replace it with a new organization with a brand-new name. Why? The NaFFAA has become a “toxic name” and previous donors like the foundations of the Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America refuse to give it now even a single cent. Its IRS-issued employer’s ID number is blacklisted by many foundations.

Many of its previous donors and financial supporters were turned off by investigative reports published in this website, the www.MabuhayRadio.com, that the NaFFAA NEOs did not observe the ATIC principles in running the financial affairs of the federation. ATIC, as this writer coined in 2003, is the acronym of “accountability, transparency, integrity and credibility.”

The NaFFAA NEOs cited in an e-mail the exposés of Romeo P. Marquez, an investigative reporter, and this writer as the principal causes of the withdrawals of their major donors. The NEOs continue to deny the charges of impropriety in handling the federation’s finances, as published in this section, http://www.mabuhayradio.com/sections/naffaagate.html

Coupled with the articles penned by Joseph G. Lariosa and A Cup O' Kapeng Barako Columnist Jesse Jose, the NaFFAA suffered a fatal blow in the Court of Public Opinion. Now, almost all NaFFAA members refuse to support financially and even morally the federation because of the NEOs’ refusal to follow the ATIC. Mr. Lariosa is the Chicago-based dean of Filipino correspondents in the United States.

In fact, many NaFFAA regional chapters have disbanded from Colorado to Hawaii. Eventually, the PASPHAW supremo said that the NaFFAA may only have two chapters, Chapter 7 and/or Chapter 11, and use them in the Bankruptcy Court.

The NaFFAA was forced to vacate a room that it was renting for $500 per month in the building of the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA). The NaFFAA could not pay the rent. But Mr. Marquez reported this development way back on April 29, 2010, in this article, NaFFAA Now “Homeless” in DC, As Its Top Officials Resign as Organization Teeters on Insolvency

New Name for the Federation

P ASPHAW President Bunao said also that the NaFFAA ruling clique might decide to name the replacement federation “American Biracial National Organization (ABNO).” Why “Biracial”? Mr. Bunao said that many of the ruling-clique members have foreign blood. Some of them are of Canadian descent (Kana dian, kana doon, kana dito). Others have Korean ancestry (Saan ba ang lagay Korean, oops, ko riyan?). Another NaFFAA top leader has Japanese roots (AKA Lagareng Hapon).

According to Mr. Bunao’s informant (his “Deaf Throat,” as the contact person has difficulty in hearing), the ABNO will organize further its members into different task forces, such as:

ABNOY (American Biracial National Organization for the Youth)

ABNO-VETSCEN (American Biracial National Organization for the Veterans and Senior Citizens). Mr. Bunao said that it will be known also as the MSG Task Force. MSG, meaning Multiethnic Senior Group.

ABNOW (American Biracial National Organization for Women).

The Deep Throat of Marquez and Reyes

T he NaFFAA NEOs are also accusing Ernesto “Apo Ernie” Gange of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of feeding information and documents to Romy Marquez and this writer. Mr. Gange is a cofounder of the NaFFAA and former chair of the NaFFAA chapter in Pennsylvania.

Finally, the PASPHAW supremo says that if the NaFFAA NEOs’ allegation is true, then Apo Ernie may be the modern version of Ganges Khan, oops Genghis Khan, and Romy Marquez, et al, are just his Mongol-pencil pushers besieging the NaFFAAgate of an evil empire. Perhaps Mr. Bunao’s metaphorical use of “Ganges Khan” was inspired by this article,

The Barbarians at the NaFFAAgate

Poet-pundit Bunao might have taken irreverently Apo Ernie’s surname. But the PASPHAW motto is, “It is better to be irreverent than become irrelevant to the issues of the times.”

(To be continued . . .)

Dear Bobby,

It is sad to say but "NaFFAA-ka toxic talaga ng pangalan ng federation" as of now.

For the record,

Roger,

What is Ernie Gange up to? Pls get to the bottom of it. The questions he asks are like asking, "Have you stopped beating your wife?" Whatever answer you give, you look stupid. Ernie is cc'd this response. Maybe he can explain this Marquez-Reyes type of inquisition. Thanks.

Dear Ka Luis:

You seem not to be conversant with the story of the Phoenix. Please Google it and let me know if you got the story right.

Thank you for your query,

Mabuhay,

Time will tell, Ka Luis, if the NaFFAA will burn up (or probably down) from the proverbial sense. Romy Marquez and I are just writing about the NaFFAA sad saga. It is up to its remaining members and regional officers to write the ending. We can only document the ending or non-ending.

Abangan . . .

Thank you again for your interest in the story that we are covering,

Lolo Bobby
