E xpressions of public support at Ecuador's embassy in central London continued on the second day Friday with more supporters, especially from Occupy London, taking positions on the sidewalk across the embassy where Julian Assange has taken shelter.

The WikiLeaks founder has been granted political asylum –  announced on Thursday – but could not leave the embassy premises or he would be arrested by British authorities who wanted him extradited to Sweden to face questioning on allegations he had committed rape.

Quote of the Day
