Today, April 9, 2007, is the death anniversary of Dr. Perry Calica of Los Angeles, California, and Baguio City, Philippines. He was a World War II veteran and headed the American Legion, Manila Post 464, at the time of his death. Dr. Calica was also the president of the Philippine Town Movement, Inc., and he was the moderator in 1994 of the Media Breakfast Club of Los Angeles, CA. He wrote a newspaper column for several Filipino-American publications. Many veterans and the members of the Media Breakfast Club miss Dr. Calica because he gave his all in public service to the community. He wore many hats in the community and people appreciated his concern and care for his fellow Filipinos in the United States.
