By Bobby M. Reyes, editor-in-chief.

This editor just coined what the overwhelming majority of Americans feels today and probably up to the end of this year. The word is "Trumpidation."

It is the political-world's synonym of trepidation.

TRUMPIDATION is THE feeling of fear or agitation about many bad things that may follow the current happening of a pandemic that the Trump Administration does not have a meaningful-and-doable strategy to stop the deaths of hundreds of thousands of citizens and the nearly-five million of infected Americans. It is compounded by so-much stock-market manipulation where the manipulators use "Corporate Welfare" and stimulus funding. The fear is stoked by the growing government deficit spending where printing of more greenbacks seems to be the only ad-hoc solution.

It is the well-founded fear of a collapsing economy that will result in a new "Mortgage Meltdown." And millions more of people are agitated as many of them may soon live on the streets. There is also the fear of millions of bankruptcies -- both on the corporate level and individual families. This will happen due to failure of consumers to pay off their credit-card bills, auto loans and/or even pawnshop debts. And when millions of people go hungry at the same time, all bets are off.

And then there is the ultimate fear of bloodshed that may lead to a civil war if Donald J. Trump does not accept his looming defeat in the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election.

The future of the world depends also on the end of TRUMPIDATION. Why? Because as many pundits and economists say, "When the United States of America catches cold, all the other countries catch pneumonia."

Can America -- and even the world -- survive four more years of TRUMPIDATION? # # #

Quote of the Day

"I had a linguistics professor who said that it's man's ability to use language that makes him the dominant species on the planet. That may be. But I think there's one other thing that separates us from animals -- we aren't afraid of vacuum cleaners."--Jeff Stilson
