U.S. Taxpayers Must Force the End of American Subsidy for Israel’s Colonial Abuses and Criminal Conduct

T he taxpayers of the United States must force their government to stop bankrolling Israel’s continued colonization of portions of the State of Palestine and all the violence that the Israeli’s military forces have been waging criminally on the Palestinian people for more-than 63 years (and counting).

Since coming to office, the Obama administration has continued the enormous funding to Israel allowing the continued siege of Gaza, the occupation and expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and Israel's non-stop war against all of the Palestinian people. President Obama has promised at least thirty-billion dollars in military aid to Israel over the next 10 years. – A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition

T he Gaza (Strip) has been blockaded by Israel since 2007 with full backing by the United States government. The naval blockade is a brutal form of collective punishment aimed at strangling the Palestinian people. The American taxpayers have been subsidizing the continued human-rights abuses being committed daily by the Israeli government and its military personnel. In turn, this website argues that actually American soldiers have been dying “for Israel” in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas of conflict in the Islamic World. A Message for Memorial Day: American Soldiers Must Stop Dying in Combat for Israel

Here is the updated account of Israel’s latest exercise of colonial power at its worst display of arrogance and complete disregard of human rights:

“An Israeli military assault on a flotilla of civilian ships in international waters carrying 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population of Gaza, resulted in at least nine dead, dozens injured and an international firestorm of protest. While the Israeli ministry of foreign affairs claimed that, ‘during the interception of the ships, the demonstrators onboard attacked the Israel Defense Force naval personnel with live fire and light weaponry including knives and clubs,’ passengers on board tell a very different story. Survivors of the attack told Free Gaza, one of the groups that organized the flotilla, that Israeli troops who boarded the Turkish-flagged ship, ‘Mavi Marmara,’ the site of the worst violence and all the fatalities, repelled down ropes from helicopters onto the ship and began to shoot the moment their feet hit the deck.

“The 700 passengers from 40 nations aboard the seized ships, which included a Nobel Peace laureate, parliamentarians, and former
U.S. diplomats, were brought to the Israeli port of Ashdod, where they were questioned and their cameras, laptops, cellphones and clothes were confiscated. In reaction to the Israeli attack protests erupted across the world. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, where four of the nine killed were from, accused Israel of ‘state terrorism,’ and withdrew its ambassador to Israel. The United Nations Security Council condemned the attack and demanded an impartial investigation into the naval assault.

“Leaders of the Free Gaza Movement vowed to send another cargo ship to
Gaza in the coming days.”

America Can Use Domestically the Military Aid to Israel

A merican taxpayers must demand the total end of the multibillion-dollar military aid that the United States sends to Israel every year. The money being sent to subsidize the colonial-and-criminal military exploits of the Israeli government can be better spent for America’s homeless population, which is growing by the proverbial leaps and bound because of the current economic crisis facing American city, county and/or state governments.

The United States federal government cannot continue to borrow money to send as subsidy to the criminal policy-and-decision makers of Israel and other governments that violate human-and-civil rights. Here is what U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (Republican, Utah’s 3rd District) said about the United States’ national debt:

Our national debt exceeds twelve-trillion dollars, with our annual deficit in excess of one-trillion and 400-billion dollars. Federal spending as a percentage of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is roughly 25%, when historically it has been roughly 19-20%.  We pay approximately 600-million dollars per day in interest payments. In short, the current government spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much of the people's money. It is unacceptable and unsustainable. No longer can we run this government on a credit card. We are not going to borrow and spend our way out of these challenges. – Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz
