UltraTek Wants to Do Parcels Delivery by Travelers Acting as “Couriers”

UltraTek, a technology research-and-product development company, announces that its new Smart Parcel Service (SPS) is in development for the next generation of GREEN parcel or package delivery.

UltraTek is looking for partners in building, developing and marketing the Smart Parcel Services. Interested would-be partners may see Joseph Lai at Booth 72967 at the Consumer Electronics Show in the Las Vegas Sands, Jan. 6-9, 2015.

“Shipping costs too much money… sometimes it costs more than the parcel we ship” said Douglas Walker, VP of Marketing & Sales for SPS. “Our patent-pending SPS delivers parcels using pre-existing travelers on the road, in the air, or over the water, wherever they are, using cellular phone access to the SPS network and their own transportation equipment to deliver parcels from the source to destination locations.”

Smart Parcel Service (SPS) has many advantages over conventional delivery services. Travelers carrying parcels as couriers use available capacities of their own existing transportation equipment. The demand for service is gathered online and dispatched to nearby travelers who happen to be on-route to the desired destination. Pick up and drop off can be easily accessed at an arranged location near the traveler’s path, such as a gas station, convenience store, supermarket, department stores or any other manned or automated “station”.

SPS delivers parcels in a way similar to how the Internet delivers its data, which is very flexible and efficient. The SPS system does not need dedicated HUBs or Central Offices. Delivery routes are dynamically calculated and improvised with the available resources and travelers. Parcels are picked up and dropped off by travelers within their normal traveling ranges. Some journeys may require the parcel to be relayed to a series of travelers, depending on the available distance of the traveler and the ultimate distance to the final destination.

SPS is revolutionizing how parcels are delivered by using today’s wireless technologies. It has many advantages: SPS is faster, lower-cost, more flexible and reliable, and reduces road congestion. It is environmentally friendly, and all travelers make money for their participation. Additional cost to SPS travelers is negligible. All travelers in SPS will be background checked and certified. In case of emergency, SPS can serve as a backup service for regular parcel services. For charitable causes, SPS may offer discount or free services based on volunteer travelers.
