T he Federation of Filipino Associations in Connecticut (FFACT) will hold its annual fundraising Golf Tourney 2010 on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the River Ridge Golf Course in Griswold, Connecticut.

 

The FFACT solicits golfers’ and sponsors’ participation or tax-deductible financial support.  Those interested may contact Tony Abad by phone at (203) 510-3400 or by email, aaabad@gmail.com.

 

Last year’s golf tournament took place on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the River Ridge Golf Course in Griswold, Connecticut.

Team Championship was captured by Vic Cipriano, Abling Lazaro, Mayo Toleran and Robert Abutin.

Longest Drive awards went to Anthony Abad for the front nine holes and Rollie Alzona for the back nine.

Award for the most accurate drive went to Yoly Fadrigalan, while the closest to the pin awards were won by Ron Banci for the front nine (5'3" on hole six) and Tony Abad for the back nine (7'6" on hole 11).

CHAMPIONS: Lowest total scores in each division were, SENIORS: Frank Castillo, 83; LADIES: Jojo Corrales, 109; YOUTH: Jeff Stebins, 67.

Boy Salazar won the putting contest and Ashley Oblena received the special ladies award.

A total of 62 golfers participated in the tournament which received financial support from 45 sponsors.

 

Proceeds benefit medical missions to the Philippines that include medical treatment of residents and training of physicians in rural areas.  Financial assistance is also provided to its component associations in Connecticut who have set up projects in the Philippines and in Connecticut.

 

 

The FFACT is a non-profit organization of about 25 Filipino-American associations in Connecticut. Founded in 1989, the federation assists its component associations in their cultural, economic, socials, civic and educational endeavors. # # #
