Dear Atty. Cabanilla:
The US government has not announced yet any plan of indicting the Arroyo Couple but if you read my article "Why the Arroyo Family and Its Rasputins Will Meet General Noriega’s Fate" and recall that the Philippine presidential plan had to fly back to Japan on Nov. 21, 2008, supposedly because the First Gentleman suffered allegedly a medical emergency -- when the plane was nearer to Honolulu -- you can make an educated guess that the Arroyos have a big problem with the Feds. Mike Arroyo has not entered also the USA to see the last two fights of Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas. He used to be at ring side for all the other previous Pacquiao bouts.
The cases obviously are about the theft of American military-and-economic aid to the Philippines, money laundering, use of Manila as trans-shipment port for illegal-drug shipments to the United States and other possible charges.
RE: Former Philippine Presidents. As to why they could not eliminate or even minimize corruption is beyond comprehension. It is public knowledge that national leaders in the Philippines have not been known to practice good governance and demonstrate the virtue of honesty.
Thank you for your queries.
Mabuhay,

Bobby,
Does the US government have a plan to indict Gloria M. Arroyo in the US? What is this case about?
You mentioned that Sen. Escudero plans to prosecute corrupt officials, if and when he becomes president? Does this mean that none of the previous president have done this? Or, did they tolerate or encourage corruption? Or, were they themselves corrupt?.
