Note that even here in the US, John McCain had a bad time explaining that he had recovered from Prostate Cancer, and that his wife Cindy was an issue due to drug use and Depression. The same with Dukakis's wife who had those problems. Even Gore's wife was questioned about her depression, even if it was her husband who was the candidate. And who can forget FPJ, who died of a stroke, soon after losing the election? We would have Loren as President now. Psychological and physical clearances are simply basics before you run for office. If you have a skeleton in your closet, O-Opposition Research will discover it no matter how you hide it, so bbetter get a clean bill of health and give it to the media up front, no secrets.
