T he Philippine national hero Jose P. Rizal was honored and remembered on his 150th birth anniversary last Sunday, June 19, 2011, at commemorative rites at the Earl Bales Park in North York, Toronto, where his bust stands.


The Order of the Knights of Rizal and its lady auxilliaries spearheaded the event. Consul General Pedro Chan led the wreath-laying ceremony, which was also attended by two Members of Parliament, namely: Joe Oliver and Joe Daniel.
