A Progress Report on the Different Filipino Wikipedia From my blog, http://salitablog.blogspot.com, here are the latest updates: Mga Kahimanwa kong Bikolano: The Bikol Wikipedia is now finally open. The URL is http://bcl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangenot_na_Pahina
This is for, more or less, the Naga-Legazpi Standard variety (aka Northern Bikol or Bikol Central). A proposal has been submitted to start a Rinconada Bikol Wikipedia, but it looks like a long shot for now. The Rinconada incubator is at http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/bto (http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/bto.)
There are now Wikipedias in EIGHT different Philippine languages. In addition to Bikol, they are: Cebuano_ http://ceb.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unang_Panid Ilokano_ http://ilo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umuna_a_Panid Kapampangan_ http://pam.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pun_Bulung Pangasinan_ http://pag.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arapan_ya_Bolong Tagalog_ http://tl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unang_Pahina Waray-Waray_ http://war.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syahan_nga_Pakli, and Zamboangueño_ http://cbk-zam.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Primero_Pagina (Chavacano).
I'm quite surprised that the Hiligaynon_ http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Hiligaynon_2 and the Kinaray-a_ http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Kinaray-a_2 Wikipedias are still on the back burner. They are "conditionally approved" -- meaning, there are some criteria that still need to be met.
Anyway, spread the word.
