Ms. Lorna Dietz has “dietzcovered” the reported formation of an alleged “lynch mob” that would string up Ben Menor (and presumably other Clique members) and crucify them with irresponsible journalism at the coming regional convention of the Midwest chapter of the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations (NaFFAA). The regional confab is set for Sept. 4-6, 2009,  at the Wyndham Hotel near the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois.

* In a message dated 8/16/2009 12:22:53 P.M. Central Daylight Time, lornadietzfinancial@gmail.com writes (in an e-forum):

QUOTE. And Lourdes Ceballos, remember when we met at a Fil-Am Chamber meeting somewhere here in Chicagoland and I told you that Ben Menor was most likely going to be found innocent of all charges? Imagine that. Many people had told me that your group of alleged Fil-Am media practitioners in Chicagoland had already been a lynch mob (lynching Ben Menor, crucifying him with irresponsible journalism) for many years when this case first came up – because to this date, there are friends in Chicago who still approach me to ask if the Ben Menor case, indeed, is over. In other words, Lourdes, can you really tell me straight to my face during the upcoming NaFFAA R3 Conference that your colleagues treated Ben Menor fairly? UNQUOTE.

T ing Joven, a Chicago-based community leader, posted in the same e-forum this note of protest:

QUOTE. Lorna,

When making allegations, (like) "Many people had told me that your group of alleged Fil-Am media practitioners in Chicagoland had already been a lynch mob (lynching Ben Menor, crucifying him with irresponsible journalism)," please be specific and mention names.

Lourdes Ceballos' writings and statements do not represent any of "her colleagues" or any organization she is affiliated with – unless authorized by such organizations.

DO NOT generalize the media practitioners in Chicago.  You should know that, if you are what you claim to be a PR (Public Relations) person.  You are not helping NaFFAA.  You should be fired.

Ting Joven UNQUOTE.

* Ms. Lorna Dietz might have heard it wrong again. Actually this writer heard of a plan hatched allegedly by some Filipino-American writers to raise funds for the Filipino-American community in Chicago. The fundraising proponents plan allegedly to stage a “Sinakulo” (Filipino version of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ) on Good Friday in April 2010 and invite Ben Menor to play the role of the Redeemer. To be crucified supposedly with Ben “Christ” Menor will be the two Biblical thieves, who will be played by Rodel Rodis and Greg Macabenta. Jon Melegrito is said to play the role of Judas Iscariot. Ms. Lorna Dietz will be Mary Magdalene. Ed Navarra will fill in the role for Pontius Pilate. Lourdes Ceballos will act as the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Chicago’s DOMs (Daring Outspoken Mediamen), as led by its chairman, Don Azarias, are to take up the roles of the 11 other good apostles. Why, if the plan works and done every Easter, Chicago may yet be known as the Oberamergau of the Americas. The Holy-Week Filipino-American spectacle may boost the tourism industry not only of Chicagoland but also the entire Great Land of Abraham Lincoln. Wow.

* Blessed are the peacemakers. According to an unconfirmed report, Sir Martin Celemin of the Knights of Rizal and the chairman of the NaFFAA regional chapter in Southern Nevada, proposes a solution to the impasse in the NaFFAA national leadership. Sir Martin allegedly wants to propose the tandem of Dr. Joy Bruce of Florida as the new NaFFAA national chairperson and current NaFFAA national Vice Chair Rozita Lee of Las Vegas. It will be reportedly known as the Bruce-Lee Peacemaking Team.

However, Seattle, Washington-based writer Jesse Jose, who is also a martial-arts expert, says that the Bruce-Lee tandem may be a tragic combination as the original Bruce Lee died before he could tap his full potential.

* In the meantime, San Diego, California-based investigative reporter Romeo P. Marquez reportedly said that Bobby Reyes was wrong when he proposed to use the family name of Ms. Rozita Lee as the magic word for peace in the NaFFAA. This writer proposed “Leeconciliation” as the slogan for the harmony in the federation. Mr. Marquez says that there are now many NaFFAA members who want Ms. Rozita and her fellow NaFFAA national executive officers (NEOs) to “Leesign.” Reportedly, Mr. Marquez said further, “If they will not ‘Leesign,’ chances are the NaFFAA regional leaders and members will be forced to ‘Leecall’ them (the NEOs).”

* A New NaFFAA “Century Club”? A yet-to-be-verified report from Chicago (again) says that there is a proposal to pass a resolution calling for the formal organization of a “Century Club” in the federation during the Labor-Day (weekend) NaFFAA convention at the Wyndham Hotel. The resolution is to be sponsored supposedly by the NaFFAA Midwest chairman, Ed Navarra. According to the unconfirmed report, the proposed “Century Club” will have two classifications:

1.)               Gold Members: Those who have stolen at least $100,000 from the federation.

2.)               Platinum Members: Those who will be sentenced to more-than 100 years in prison (a la Bernard Madoff) for stealing funds from the NaFFAA.

The NaFFAA head honcho in the Midwest, Ed Navarra, denies vehemently that there is such a move to create the “Century Club” and denounces the allegation that he is sponsoring the resolution. Mr. Navarra adds, “Hindi pa ako nasisiraan ng bait” (‘I have not yet lost my mind’) to sponsor that resolution. Perhaps, the proponents of the ‘Sinakulo’ are up again to their literary tricks.” Like Ms. Dietzcovery, he refused, however, to “be specific and mention names.” Wow. # # #

Dear Comrades with Common Sense of Humor:

In order to diffuse the rising tension between Ms. Lorna Dietz and her best friend, Romeo P. Marquez, and reduce the elevated blood pressure of the NaFFAA NEOs, I posted this morning a new satire. It is entitled, Lorna Dietz Fears Lynch Mob in Chicago and a New NaFFAA Century Club (Part II of “’Dietzcoveries’ Series”)

URL: http://www.mabuhayradio.com/sections/humor-a-satire/4276-lorna-dietz-fears-lynch-mob-in-chicago-and-a-new-naffaa-century-club-part-ii-of-dietzcoveries-series.html

The article mentions many of the Chicago-based community leaders, Ed Navarra, Jesse Jose, Sir Martin Celemin, Dr. Joy Bruce and of course, many of the NaFFAA NEOs. The more, the merrier.

If my idol Ed Navarra cares to read it, it is actually my subliminal (advertising) message (done free of charge) for the NaFFAA Midwest regional convention in Chicago on Sept. 4-6, 2009. As the PR people like my favorite blogger, Ms. Lorna Dietz, say, "Any publicity, whether favorable or unfavorable, is always good." Yes, especially when it connotes "SEX IN THE publiCITY," as I wrote in “Dietzcoveries:” Sex, Lies and NaFFAAgate

I am very optimistic that the Dietzcovery Series will generate lots of laughter and smiles, if not guffaws.

Mabuhay and happy reading,

Lolo Bobby,

More, LOLO Bobby, more! Yeah, let's roll on down that barrel of fun from your prolific pen, full of fun-filled puns!!! Make them NaFFAA thieves and clowns dance. Let's see them dance. They're spinning now. Spin, spin, clowns, spin. LOL.

Amen to that, Ting!

For somebody to drag the name of one of the most beloved journalists in the Chicagoland area is unconscionable. Ms. Lourdes Ceballos' integrity is impeccable and when someone like her is attacked, there's where I draw the line. That's the time I'll stand up to defend her.

Ha ha ha. LornaDietz has found her match!

And she's not even a journalist. Pinabili 'yan ng kandila, pagbalik journalist na! Na-empower daw siya mag-shop! Is that the kind of empowerment they have in NaFFAA?

Thank you so much Ting for socking it to this parrot called LornaDietz!

Looks like we have another main event in Chicago.....Lorna Tolentino vs Alona Alegre LOL. Maybe this can be another workshop/debate Chica-Chica in Chi, how about it Emraida?

In 2005 we had one, Bobby Reyes vs Perry Diaz, but when Bobby declined, we asked Danny Martinez instead. The debate was about partitioning the Philippines - pro and con. Danny is the author of the book A Country of our Own. It was a draw.

Hello, Ting: I don't have any fight with Lourdes Ceballos. I think she's a lovely, talented woman. I do get mad, however, when I see well-meaning journalists like Lourdes choose to lend their credibility by writing about fairness (and all the other ideals regular people abide by) to trolls like RomyMarquez or BobbyReyes who hurl their obscene, harmful, untruthful comments in a public domain. BUT I will have my own off-line conversation with Lourdes because she deserves my apologies.

To BobbyReyes and RomyMarquez: You've undoubtedly made me mad --- that trolls like you make the Filipino community look bad. You depended on NaFFAA's professionalism in just keeping low and keeping quiet while you attack the NaFFAA volunteers' good work. I repeat: "Both of you are full of it --- and I won't take it anymore!"

One more thing: I have never claimed to be a journalist. I am, however, a community publicist. BobbyReyes seems to think I'm a budding blogger BUT I've had my blog since 2004. BobbyReyes is new to blogging.

Both these men claim they are investigative reporters but apparently, they are not... They don't get their facts right, including job titles.

I really feel sorry for these little men, BobbyReyes and RomyMarquez (with nothing between their ears). I pray and hope God will find ways to make them become more compassionate human beings so they can truly serve their communities through good works, instead their hiding behind their computers, seeking attention by "flaming," and destroying people's reputations when they (themselves) have shady reputations.

BobbyReyes and RomyMarquez, this one is for you:

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

There's a lot of work to be done to keep continually evolving in our quest to become better human beings.

Well, Ting, it's good of you to defend Lourdes Ceballos. You're a good friend. Kudos to you! Turn that around and understand why I would be taking time out from my very busy schedule to stand up for my friends, too. Now, if you'll all excuse me, I have work to do, including making unpopular decisions in the interests of organizations that I serve, such as NaFFAA.

Lourdes, I'll be calling you.

As for the people who get these emails, stand up for what's right, what's true, and what will impact achieving your highest potential as a human being, achieve social change, and pave the way for a positive future.

Don't practise or lend your credibility to these trolls' pseudo-journalism!

Dear Ting Joven,

You are correct, Lorna Diez appears to be the "ATTACK DOG of BEN MENOR,"
I was surprised when she insulted two of the most respected women in our community, Dr. Joy Bruce, of Florida and Lourdes Ceballos of Chicago.

It appears that she is the leader of the "SECRET GANG." If she will not resign from NaFFAA, it will appear na kasama siya sa CASHSUNDUAN.

Best regards.

Hi, Ting: You are right! Lourdes Ceballos does not speak for her other media colleagues here in Chicago BUT for her personal self. I stand corrected. My apologies!

Maybe we should start having the first person who included us in this email thread delete all of us from his emails.

So, for those who don't want to be included in this email thread anymore, start saying, "PLEASE DELETE MY NAME FROM THIS EMAIL THREAD." (The word is not "unscubscribe" because this is not a listserv)

Ernie: Keep up that "secret gang" terminology of yours especially since you're a NaFFAA volunteer --- and you will find yourself in deep doo-doo. I don't insult well-meaninged people. I, however, will put attention to their misaligned loyalties and misplaced words that supposedly help NaFFAA evolve as a true empowerment organization.

Take this off-line, please --- that is, if you're the professional volunteer that I thought you were.

Stay well, Ernie! Peace and harmony are better than these misplaced words of yours. Your health is more important to me --- so I am not going to go to places where you might get sick --- such as all these hateful words that you are spewing out. I've lost too many friends (I lost another one recently) and family so I know that I am grateful to know the people I am defending and am standing up for.

Ha ha ha ha ha! It's coming out in trickles folks. Our "budding blogger" (according to Bobby Reyes) is indeed the ""ATTACK DOG of BEN MENOR."

A dog is also called a bitch, a mongrel, a scoundrel, a puppy, a coyote, etc., and I leave it to you to pick what best describes this mother troll LornaDietz.

Bobby Reyes is too kind to call her a "budding blogger". To me, she's a veteran blabber, which is the more accurate term, as in blah blah blah blah blah blah.

If only to prove she's not part of the "CashSunduan" or the leader of the "secret gang", she should quit NaFFAA so all this coverup would stop. Then she can forever engage in worthless blabbing.

By the way, you have not answered my question. How many of you were empowered to shop by NaFFAA? Did you return the sukli for the 400 candles?

Good luck blabber.

Hi LornaDietz,

May I assure you that I'm no "little" man. If you stand next to me for sure you will be looking up there because I'm six feet tall and you're not even five feet, and maybe fat. There's a head between my ears and another between my legs, do you get the drift?

So if you would stop this dirty talk and sexual innuendoes, I would stop. I can almost feel the orgasmic pleasure that you find in these exchanges but, please, not in this forum where men and women have better things to do than read your illiterate blabbers.

I suggest you do your thing within the confines of NaFFAA. Si Greggie, kumusta?

Romy, and you call yourself an investigative reporter? Apparently not... seriously!

Look at the language you use... You are indeed a troll, in the strictest definition of the word in the slang dictionary online. No wonder your reputation in San Diego is so bad that you have to resort to using the internet to make innocent people think that you're a true journalist.

Stay away from trolls like Romy Marquez, my media friends. He is not worthy of being a news correspondent.

I am now throwing virtual "pan de sal" at you because people are now seeing what a troll you are.

YOU ARE FULL OF IT --- AND I WILL NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Hi LornaDietz,

The truth is, those who say my reputation "is so bad" are usually those I have exposed for engaging in all kinds of scams and other criminal acts. That's a fact.

Just take a look at the number of individuals and organizations which has victimized the Filipino community since I started my investigative journalism in 1994. One of them is a person named Greggie. There's a whole legion of them and I was wondering if you're one of them.

I have nothing to explain but for some people who think and behave like retards (oh, is that you?) I try to help them by making them understand. My work speaks for me.

I respect all of you.

But personally, this mud-slinging, if I may be permitted to term this as such, is like throwing our saliva up in the air and LETTING IT FALL DOWN ON OUR FACES!

This is not something we can proudly present to our children as typical of Filipinos.

Parang NAKAKAHIYA, hindi ba?

We are all Filipinos and I say, if there are things that must be said, keep it at a civil level and let those involved in this, discuss and talk things over "intelligently" and "privately!"

If we can't keep cool, let us not be a fool!

I may be deadly wrong! But I don't think we need to drag a large segment of the Filipino community on this. Okay lamang kung fair investigative reporting. But kung personal na at may kahalo ng insulto, etc, (hindi na objective), parang mabigat ang dating sa mga tao!

Additionally, I think that all of us are capable of objectively presenting the pros and cons of this without getting maliciously personal!

When we say things that we may regret later on, who really gets hurt in the process?

The Filipinos!

Salamat. Ingat.

Pareng Rolly,

I agree with you. Some of the names in here are my relatives' and friends' here and in the Philippines. I make it a point of sending them my weekly column. I am not sure who used that list and included their names in this thread. I tried deleting their names twice because I'm getting a lot of heat from them and from my son, an only child, who was born in this country. He can't believe that something like this is happening in the Fil-Am community.
