R ep. Jose G. Solis, chairman of the Congressional Committee on Bicol Recovery and Economic Growth, assured the people of Sorsogon that he would continue to pursue his goal of enhancing the delivery of basic services such as education, health-care and livelihood for the less-privileged even as he lost the gubernatorial post. Congressman Solis' aide, Vladimir Ramon “Bladi” Frivaldo, reported the legislator's statement to the press. Mr. Frivaldo is the newly-elected Provincial Board Member of the 2nd district of Sorsogon and a grandson of the late former Gov. Juan G. Frivaldo.

“The people of Sorsogon particularly the 2nd district deserve free and quality services worthy of their continued support and trust to the Solis tenure,” Bladi Frivaldo said. Despite the congressman’s limited budget and resources, projects were realized through the prudent use of taxpayers’ money.

C ongressman Solis has on record as the only congressman in history of Sorsogon implemented projects in all barangays in the 2nd district. The good congressman had also prioritized the education by providing millions of pesos worth of books and computers plus the most number of school buildings, health and day-care centers constructed.

Congressman Solis’ administration will continue to develop depressed areas in many barangays neglected by the provincial government due to their political affiliations by providing concrete roads, drainages, school buildings, barangays hall, etc., until June 30, 2010.  One example is the inauguration of concrete road from Gubat to Barcelona project implemented by Congressman Solis.  Many residents in Barcelona openly wept thanking Solis that the government can still hear their small voices of grievances.

Congressman Solis is still focused on doing what he is best: work, work and more work for the betterment of his constituents up to the last day of his term. # # #
